Hi. New to the group. Diagnosed with lobular breast cancer in November, had a double mastectomy a couple of weeks ago. Having a lymph node clearance on Thursday.
Recovery from double mastectomy going well, healing nicely and plenty of movement in my arms. Just having one side cleared, fingers crossed I don't have any of the potential problems afterwards which my consultant obviously has to warn me about!
That’s good news!! I had a single mastectomy plus clearance 10 days ago and can move well. Just waiting on results to know about further treatment…. It’s nerve wracking
It's the waiting that is the worst isn't it. Once you know exactly what you are dealing with and you have a treatment plan in place things will be easier hopefully x
Hello Crazydoglady, love the name! I had ILC, mastectomy, reconstruction, no radio & lettozole, almost 14 months ago. I’ve been fine on lettozole no side effects. Did have a drain for 7 days, pico also for tissue healing & no real discomfort or pain. It’s important to start exercises when told to do so. Good luck with your recovery and take your time with it.
Morning. Thank you for getting in touch. I've been doing all the exercises as suggested and no problems with arm movement. I understand that having the lymph node clearance can be more uncomfortae afterwards than the mastectomy itself, so preparing myself for that! Couldn't decide what to call myself on here, then saw my 4 dogs looking at me and thought "that's it!
