Good Friday Eve to all!

I was diagnosed with high grade DCIS

It took almost 2 months, because I have 3 times biopsies, different ones. Initially, it was area of 10mm, then additional area of 2mm, then after vaccum assisted biopsy I was told the area is huge, about 6cm.

Last meeting I told only mastectomy is in option for me, which scared me a lot. I was hoping for breast conserving surgery to the last minute.

Immediate reconstruction: implant or DIEP recon.

BCN did explain pros and cons for both last week.

This week Monday I gave my desigion for DIEP.

I was told next meeting will be with plastic surgeon, who will perform operation (not my consultant surgeon). And to wait for call of his secretary.

I am so worried that it's already about 3 months since my initial screening in mobile centre and I still waiting for treatment.

  • Hi Lapa

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with high forage DCIS.  It’s perfectly understandable that you are worried as you have been waiting so long for treatment.  Try keeping yourself busy by doing the things that you love to try and take your mind off things.

Best of luck with your meeting with the plastic surgeon when you have it.

    Best wishes
