Hi so I'm new to this group, Recently diagnosed grade 2 DICS. So far all results are just a 12mm lump and no spread, waiting to have surgery in the new year.
I have to say receiving this diagnosis has been so shocking . Part of me is still waiting for them to say , sorry we made a mistake you are all fine.
The whole thing is just cant express in words really.
All i have so far has decided to call my cancer The Nightshade. [ name of a poisonous flower] Represents for me. I was getting my life back together again after 8 years of not working, found my job, worked through covid. Feeling happy, yet bouts of anxiety from already suffering PTSD.
Along came this news , my world tumbled into darkness in one day, this lump can spread and cause me to become really ill.
Now off sick from work, no idea what future holds.
I have found a brilliant show I can watch, super girl. I am going to watch it for the next 63 weeks. I need a bit of superpower in my life right now.

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with grade 2 DICS. This breast is the earliest breast cancer that you can get is very curable. Cancer treatments have come a long way from where they were a few years ago. There is plenty of help out there for people who are struggling so don't hesitate to reach out if you need to. Macmillan have a help line that you can contact if you need help and they will refer you to a counsellor if you would like to get counselling at any stage. The number is 080 808 00 00 and it is open from 8 am to 8 pm seven days a week.
