I have been to my doctors today with what I thought was 1 lump and he found another! Referred me for the 2 week wait referral. I have pain in my left breast, chest area, armpit and arm and constantly feel sick, has anyone else had symptoms like this? Thank you, I am really terrified it's spread already!

  • Well done for going to the GP. That's the first step. You've totally done the right thing. The two week referral is standard and, I found, reassuring, as you know you will be seen quickly whether or not it turns out to be anything serious. The waiting is the hardest part. Try to stay busy... Lots to do at this time of year. I had two previous referrals in the past that turned out to be nothing serious at all and worried myself to death. This time round when I noticed a problem I was very unconcerned and just assumed it would be fine. Unfortunately not. It's impossible to know. Hence the quick turn around. All the very best. Hang on in there.

  • We do have ladies in same boat as you who found themselves on this site but once they get the good news they update as move on.  So responses you get here are biased but like  I had a 2 week referral age 40 for swelling/lump in armpit which was nothing.  11 years later no lump but recalled from first routine mammogram.  Not all cancer is lumps and not all lumps are cancer.   We notice pain in areas we are worried about.  We all get the phantom breast pain waiting for annual mammogram after treatment.   Hope your appointment comes around soon xx
