Hi Guys had a lumpectomy last Wednesday some lymph nodes removed too . Cant believe I have to wait 3 weeks for the results to come back . Drains out today thankfully I found that more painful than the surgery . Two questions someone might have the answer to .
First I've had an implant inserted but it's almost flat the surgeons not sure what's happened thinks it might be the suction from the drainage tubes .
Second had anyone here experienced extreme sensitivity of the operation site my nipple has gone but it feels like it's still there very strange .
This hasn't been nearly as bad as I thought it would be long road ahead of course next step radiotherapy is
I am familiar with the nipple phantom sensation. I had that too, my surgeon suggested looking at the scar and noting the absence of the nipple, and putting my hand over the surgical area through the clothes to reinforce on my brain the new idea of the absence of that part. This helped partially, because that absent nipple stopped hurting, but there is still an area that feels like the nipple. So I guess that is not so unusual.
