Hi all I new on the site sending love and best wishes to all I found a lump in my left breast on oct 3 2021

Fast forward 5 weeks I've had lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node taken out and just had results last Thursday that the cancer was 3 cms in size and the good news was my lymph nodes were clear.

I was so pleased but just had a phone call today to say the biopsy of the tumour is being sent of to see if I would benefit from chemo or not..

Surgeon  had told me that it would be radiotherapy and hormone blocker so having to wait 10 days now to see...does anyone know what is meant by intermediate cancer tumour???this is what the doctor who is now looking after me said it was....

Oh well as we all know another waiting game this is the worst ...the waiting and the not knowing!

Good luck to all

  • Hi Chelsea65

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately I don’t have an answer for you. Hopefully some of the lovely ladies on this forum will be along with an answer.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment when it starts.

    Best wishes

  • Hi Daisy thank you so much for your reply.  I have found the information now so I understand about it because I'm 65 and have had surgery with clear lymph nodes if I get a score of 0-25 when the test is done on the tumour...I won't benefit from chemo but if I have a score of 25-50 then chemo would be beneficial to stop the likelihood of the cancer coming back.

Sending you love and hugs and good luck

     Take care
