    Hello and great news.

This is a friendly group and we are all at different stages of our journey. No question is silly if it is worrying you, I'm sure someone on here can help or you can help someone else going through the same thing as you.

    Hi gezelda,

I’ve not had it confirmed yet but I am probably starting my chemo next week too. I noticed the thread was HER2 - are you HER2 positive?

  • Hi, good to meet you.  There's lots of support and advice on here for any questions you might have.  And there is a monthly thread on chemo which you might find useful.  Good luck for next week

  • Hi Gezelda,

My breast cancer was HER2+ and also oestrogen+, and like you found out recently that the cancer hadn’t spread further than my lymph nodes. My treatment began in March with chemo, then mastectomy in July and radiotherapy through October.  My tumour was large and many lymph nodes were also affected, but thankfully a PET scan revealed that the cancer hasn’t spread further.  I’ve just started Kadcyla targeted therapy which will be 14 cycles every 3 weeks to try to prevent it reoccurring.  Also will be getting bisphosphonates along every 6 months for the next 3 years.

It’s been a long journey since I was diagnosed in March. Good luck with your chemo & if i can help at all, please let me know.

    Take care
