I’m about to start chemo and am having my PICC line put in on Friday. I had a lump removed in August and took the Oncotype test which came back with a score of 32, so there is a benefit to chemo for me. I have been reading posts on here and everyone is so encouraging. I’m being as positive as I can be but it’s all a bit daunting. I just want to get it started now as the waiting is hard.
Hello Kahy
Do you know yet which chemos you will be given? Whatever ones it is, there will be someone here who is further down the track and can give you hints and tips to help you.
I do remember how difficult it was waiting for he chemo to start. I had mine before the lumpectomy and got a very good result from it.
The good thing is that you have had your surgery, so slow, as it is feeling for you today, remember that things are already well underway for you.
I wish you all the best on the next stage.
Al the best

Hi Kathy294
welcome to the cite and sorry it’s due to this reason. I am going for a mastectomy and reconstruction on Tuesday which is looking like a big op so that is definitely a little worrying. However, it has finally arrived. Then will wait for all the histology after. I definitely agree the waiting is the worst and it seems to be a journey full of waits and action and recovery. I haven’t had chemo but I am sure some of the others will jump on here for you to chat to for you. I wish you well will it all you are definitely not alone .
My mastectomy is also next Tuesday- snap
Whether we like it or not it's got to be done. So I am telling myself total surrender to the medical team. My surgeon is so lovely and understanding, she sets me on a calm path.
Is histology same as pathology? Waiting and wondering is horrible coz your mind just plays tricks and you go to some dark places.
Will be thinking of you come Tuesday

Before u start chemo, you will see the oncologist n then pre chemo assessment. Have these been done? The also take ab echo to get a baseline?
It's good you're feeling positive. At least lump is out already. May be when u know the treatment then some others could jump in to give advice where appropriate
