Hi ladies.
Can anyone describe what a seroma looks and feels like?
I had my lumpectomy on October 8th. At my follow up appointment with my surgeon, he said I had some fluid build up and swelling, that should disperse. My breast is still quite sore when I move about and sore to touch. Being quite large..34h, I'm not sure if it's swollen or not.
Please help.
Thanks. X
Hi, I had a seroma and there was a definite swelling and I could see one breast was bigger and I am also large (36G). I think you have to watch out for it becoming red, warm to touch snd sore, as this could signal an infection. I had a chat with the nurse and also met the surgeon on my follow up and he confirmed it was a seroma. It went away within 2-3 weeks. I've been wearing t-shirt style bra tops, yep even with my size, and they've helped give me a little support overnight.
Thanks for your reply. I don't have any redness, just the swelling and soreness.
