I have been waiting 3 weeks and just been told nothing available for another 2 weeks. Having come through breast cancer nearly 10 years ago I know very well the importance of early diagnosis. Should I go privately?
Hi flossie10101
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you are facing a second breast cancer diagnosis. Maybe you could ring the clinic and ask to be put on the cancellation list so that if someone cancels their appointment you’ll be seen sooner.
Wishing you the best of luck with your appointment when you have it.
Best wishes

The 'two week' fast track wait is horrendous at the best of time, to have to wait 5 weeks seems so unfair and will cause you so much anxiety. I thought, it was a given '2 weeks' no longer. You could suggest that they aren't meeting with Government guideline, ask if there is another hospital nearby that you can go to sooner.... some hospitals are sending various types of appointments out via private hospitals.
If all this fails, if it was me, I would go private, purely to save extra stress, anxiety and its done with. You would be able to look up the Consultant you want to see and go the hospital of your choice.
We all think different - this is my opinion.
Do what feels right for you xxx
Thanks for the advice, yet again I have got an answerphone message and they may get back to me within 3 days!
I’ve been looking at other hospitals, they all seem to be overloaded and unable to help. Answerphone messages from 2 private clinics!
