Hi All,
Oriinally diagnosed with lung and breast cancer and initially thought spread to adrenals was lung. 1 biopsy later and it seems it is from the breast. Is there anyone else here with a spread to the adrenals?
Also, offered Docetaxel, does anyone have any experience with this chemo?
Many thanks
Karen
HiK52A
I am sorry to hear that you have breast spread to the adrenals. I have not been diagnosed with this, but thought I would respond to your question about docexael. I had three rounds of EC followed by docetaxel at the same time a targeted therapy i.e. Herceptin and pertuzumab. I have to say that comparing it to the EC, I personally found it better. The only real side effect for me was diarrhoea which I had right through docetaxel. The oncologist gave me stuff to control this.
The only other thing was that by the end, I felt a bit tired.
It is perfectly doable and I got a really good effect from the chemo cocktail they gave me. It completely got rid of my cancer even before surgery.
There is not much more that I can tell you. However, I am sure that some of the others will be along soon with more information.
Wishing you all the best WalyDug
Hi WallyDug,
Thanks for your reply, I guess mine is slightly different, had chemo and radiotherapy for the lung but it didn't touch the breast side and as the lung was a 4 x 2 cm lump and the breast lump was 8mm initial thought was it came from the lung, had a lumpectomy but only because they wanted to get straight back onto lung treatment which was immunotherapy which didn't work, they are now offering Docetaxel for both now, they did mention an oral chemo alongside but I have forgotten the name. Currently going through no treatment, had scan on Monday, will get results on 15th Oct. so I guess we'll see from there. I think I was lucky I didn't really get many side effects from the chemo and radiotherapy so hopefully this one won't be too awful but I gather it is a harder hitting chemo than before.
Thanks
Karen
Also, meant to say Triple Negative, Grade 3 when diagnosed not sure if that makes a difference......
I think it does make a difference. I am not tripple negative, but there are a number of triple neg. ladies here, whom I am sure will give advice on their treatments. I am not sure what the chemo combination are for this.
Take care
WallyDug
Hi Karen
Sorry to read of your spread and not only one primary but two!
I realise this post is a couple months old but was wondering how the chemo was and interested to hear re adrenal gland.
I am currently waiting ……. a mass has been found on my adrenal gland. Original bc in 2011. All in my profile. I thought I had played my final episode of bc but it seems I may be having another series! However, I am clinging onto hope that it’s not connected.
Hope you are well
Ann
