Hello hope your ok..I’m having the same op..iv got my pre op this Friday pm..having my dye injected for lymph nodes on Thursday 13th and operation on Friday 14th..I’m actually more worried about the dye injection than the lumpectomy and my node removal..I’m pretty anxious about that bit to be honest and I can’t sleep as it’s playing on my mind..xx

  • Hi, I've not heard about the blue dye. Is that for having all of the lymph nodes removed? Yes, I feel totally drained,  and not sleeping either. It's just all this waiting and what ifs. This will be my first treatment,  I'm provisionally grade 1, stage 2 invasive ductal cancer,  with 1 cancerous node. Lump in breast was showing at 22mm. Although I'm sure its grown. So hoping, it's just Radiotherapy after my op. For me I'm worried about the removal of all the lymph nodes and the possible complications,  ie lymphedema.  I'm to have a wire guide in before the op. X

Ahh bless it’s scary isn’t it..your right it is all the waiting and unknown..I was told last Friday I had breast cancer stage 2 grade 3 18 mm lump just above my nipple..I don’t think it’s sunk in yet..I’m sure I heard the breast nurse say to me on Friday I needed to go for a needle in my nipple area which contains a radioactive dye..this goes into the lymph nodes so the surgeon can clearly see them to remove..I’m on the morning op list so need the needle the day b4 if I was on the pm list I could have had it the same day.there’s so much to take in isn’t there so might have misunderstood..do you know if questions can be asked at the pre op?..xxx

  • Yes. You should be able to ask any questions you need to.

Oo thank you..my head is like a washing machine at the moment..just going round and round can’t turn off to sleep..it’s sad we all all here for the same reason but it’s good there’s always someone who understands how you feel..family and friends are really supportive but unless your going through the same it’s quite hard to relate isn’t it thank you all xx

  • That's true, my hubby keeps saying stop reading about it, but feel I need to take in as much info as possible. Are you all still working? I am until friday, then off to isolate for operation.  Are you having partial reconstruction too? I'm have fat taken from my back, to fill lump in. Think it's a licap xx
