Hi. 49 had a small lump a couple of years ago doc didnt refer me said it was a cyst it will sort it self out call back if leakage happens. A few months ago thought it was best to get it checked again as it was bigger, waiting ages to see the doctor told it's nothing but referred me anyway, felt like I was wasting their time. Anyway had an all in one apt. Mams, scan 3 biopsies right breast and armpit. Got told i will need treatment 7cm malignant mass and dodgy looking nodes. Got another apt. Thursday hopefully to be told stage and treatment plan.

Will I have more tests at this apt or is it just to discuss there are no clues in the letter just time and date.

Waiting and not knowing is driving me mad. My feeling at the moment is HURRY UP HOSPITAL.

  • Hello I’m sorry but I empathise. I’m too new to know the answers but I was told on Weds that I have invasive ductal cancer andthe consultant booked me for an MRI (had it on Friday). Like you fuller info on spread etc and treatment on Weds. I am going equally deranged just wanting Weds. surgery is first line of treatment apparently and could be 19th or 26th. I have an existing condition which I have managed to forget about fir 2 years so some team to team comms is needed. Good luck and pleased to meet you sorry about the circumstances

  • Hi Sam,

I was diagnosed at the beginning of February. The waiting and not knowing is the most difficult part. Once you have your treatment plan you’ll, almost certainly, feel a lot better.

Everyone is different so will have different scans/treatment. Do you have a BC nurse you can contact if worry gets too much?

After my initial mammo, us and biopsies (all on the same day)I had a CT scan then breast MRI (for detailed picture) then went straight to chemo. It all happened very quickly.

Hopefully you’ll get your treatment plan soon.
