Hi everyone,
Have just been to collect my prescription for another lot of letrozole and notice the make is "Amarox"...never heard of this one. Been taking Accord. Just wondered if anyone has had Amarox before...bit apprehensive.
Hope everyone is having a good day today xx

Hi Rattybaggins welcome to the forum . Its annoying isn't it when you get a brand that suits you then they change it? I've not heard of that brand but I'm sure maybe some of the other lovely folks on here may have .
In the interim I'f you have a look in the Breast Cancer forums as there is a thread/discussion re Letrozole if you wanted to have a look or even post in there if that's any help for you.
Hi Granny59, thanks so much for your reply. I have been taking Letrozole for 15months now and have had a couple of different brands that I have seen mentioned on the Letrozole thread. It was just that I have never come across this particular named brand and could not find anything on Google. It's manufactured in Malta according to the leaflet. Oh well we shall see how we get on.....I get various side effects from the ones I have been taking so let's hope this one is kind....
All the very best to you
xx
Hi Ratty!
I also just had my usual Accord switched to this and I am with you on feeling nervous it’s hard to trust a system that basically works on budgets first and if something comes along that’s cheaper that’s what you’ll get. I am also hoping for a kind outcome. You can ask your GP to specify a brand - and I had done this, so I’m surprised at the switch but I will give it a go. Good luck!
Hi Wolfie.
Thanks so much for your reply. I did mention to my chemist but they said it's not always easy to stipulate a particular brand. We shall see how we go......Few creaks and groans here and there, but fingers crossed nothing too bad...yet!!......I did find on the Cipla brand that emotionally I felt dreadful and my moods were not good.....or so my husband told me........The Accord was brand seemed ok....I get two months supply at a time, so goodness knows what I will get next....
.I have had a pain in my shoulder for a few weeks, but I am putting that down to the overuse of the mouse and sitting at the computer for too long.....seeing as it eases off when i sit on the sofa....poor old soul (74yrs).....
All the very best Wolf,
Ratty xx
It takes quite a lot of 'assertive insistence' and you won't always get your chosen brand if it simply isn't in the country, but you can get it most of the time if your GP writes it on your prescription. I find that crying on the phone to them works quite well!
I'm on that now and I'm feeling dreadful, really finding my symptoms have got worse.
