I was diagnosed in October with grade 3 stage 2 breast cancer which is triple negative. I’m just about to have my third cycle of chemo before a full mastectomy.

So far so good with the chemo. Having a few bad days but still managing to work and walk despite the miserable northern weather!

My biggest challenge at the moment is keeping up my morale. There’s no sign yet that the chemo is having an effect on what is quite a large tumour. Except for losing my hair of course. We’ve been in Covid tier 3 for what seems like an eternity and this is quite isolating despite having fantastic support from my family. I miss my friends!

Still, very grateful to be feeling quite well and hoping that continues.

Glad to have the support of this community. Hope I’ll be able to support and contribute too.

  • Welcome to the forum:) You sound like you are well on your way through the journey already,  and congratulations on coping with the chemo so well! I took tine off work last year when having mine as I'd a lot of side effects with EC, and also supportive family and friends,  but found (as is common) that they can't really understand how it feels,  so found this forum really helpful.

There is a 'Chemo' thread for questions,  support and gossip, an 'awake' thread,  which was initially intended for those unable to sleep fite to worry or medication but is busy day and night,  and loads  of other threads a s well..  I'm guessing that you'll continue chemo after your surgery? Areyou having Docetaxel/ Paclitaxel afterwards? Anyway,  welcome,  and good luck with the surgery! Xxx

Thank you for the welcome. Not sure what I’ll have after surgery yet - not thinking that far ahead!
