Hi
i was diagnosed yesterday with grade 2 breast
cancer and lymph node involvement!!
oestrogen and progesterone positive!!
I went private to find this out as just couldn’t
wait the 2 weeks my GP had said it would take!!
still awaiting appointment for one stop clinic
where I live!!
I was told how they would treat first getting CT
scan to make sure it hasn’t spread then a lumpectomy then chemo followed by radiation!!
would love to speak to anyone with similar
to me!! And your experience!
xx
  • I had er+ lobular cancer but my lump was too big for lumpectomy so had a mastectomy just a week ago.  The type of cancer I had was not suitable for chemo so, if they think it is necessary after they have had a look at what they took away, I may need radiotherapy.  I had to wait 6 weeks from finding my lump to getting a consultation.  The waiting is the worst part.  My CT scan was clear;  You just have to hold on to the fact that it has been found now and is very treatable.

    Hi Lesley

yes I do!! I’m quite an anxious person anyway but this has just sent my anxiety levels through the roof!!

im afraid I’m imagining all sorts now and need to get the CT scan done!!

    thanks for your reply! Xx

  • Hi

So sorry you have had this diagnosis but you will find lots of support and advice on this forum.
I had the same diagnosis confirmed early in September and had CT scan before treatment confirmed. Everyone will tell you that the waiting really is the worst part of all. And at each stage there is more waiting. My breast care nurse did get the CT results through for me in a day which was a relief- fortunately clear apart from the known lump and lymph node. If you are being treated privately you should get the result quickly.

Hope that you soon exactly what you are dealing with and get treatment under way. And remember that breast cancer is extremely treatable and treatment is very successful.

    Thanks for your reply!!

I have had my CT results back today and unfortunately they have found a spot on my liver!!
I am so worried and won’t know the next steps until next week when I will need more scans now!!
    and more waiting!!
I wonder has anyone else had this??

  • Hi , noticed that no one had replied to your question re spots on liver. I’m sure there will be someone here who’s had this but may not see your question on this thread. What about starting a new thread in the Questions about diagnosis and treatments section? And entitle it with your question ? Eg ‘Anyone had pre treatment CT results with spots on liver?’ or some such? I’m sure I’ve seen posts on the site with similar experiences in the past.
Sending a big virtual hug your way and hope you get started on treatments soon, the waiting around is truly tortuous. HFxx

    Hi

I was diagnosed on Monday this week, following biopsies two weeks ago, Like you its a grade 2 invasive breast cancer seen as primary cancer on all they have so far. Apparently the lymph node biopsy was reactive? but benign, So, II have surgery to remove lump and tissue on 5th January then once healed and results in - particularly the gate keeper lymph nodes they will take during the surgery. I complete a course of radiotherapy, Depending on the results I move onto step 2 or not! I have not had a CT scan, just pre op assessment stuff. I am at the moment so broken hearted because my son and his partner were coming for Christmas, I have bought everything and decorated etc., and now it is not going to happen and as my 'bubble' is in London I am stuffed! I have never been alone at Christmas before, it is heart breaking to say the least. I needed to see him before I go through it all. He wanted to come anyway, it took a lot to talk him down. How dare they change everything so close to Christmas!

I am a nurse working as a COVID tester nurse. I do get the logic but I needed so much to see my son that is all that is keeping me going. So, Christmas alone for the first time in 65years.

  • Hi Charney,  so sorry you will be spending Christmas alone.  It's been an awful year.  I won't be seeing one of my son's for the same reason and my husband is abroad because his mother just passed away.  And yesterday I had to tell him I had cancer.  It's not going to be a great Christmas for a lot of us so don't feel alone in this.  Christmas is just one day so if you're a Christian celebrate it for that and hopefully you can see your son another day when we are out of tier 4.  Sending you love and hugs xx
