Just been told I have 5cm DCIS in left breast.

It is intermediate.

I have to go on hormone suppression treatment on tuesday.

Then been advised that I have to get my diabetes under control so will have surgery next year.

Ive read a bit about DCIS which has reassured me that this is not too serious and I do feel a bit of a fraud being nervous about it.

Im so glad I found this forum so that I can talk about this and find out how others coped with it.

Im sure i’ll be on here constantly now

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I don't have any experience with DCIS but noticed that you hadn't had any replies to your post. By replying to you it will 'bump' it to the top of the discussions list.

While you're waiting for replies, if you type 'DCIS' into the search bar in this group it'll bring up previous posts mentioning this. You could have a read through them and respond to any of the more recent ones if you wanted to.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
