Hi, I read that I shouldn't be using bic type shavers but having never used an electric shaver I am at a loss of what to buy. I had surgery three weeks ago and still have slight swelling and numbness but really need to shave. Can anyone recommend the best razor to buy. Thanks Marie

Immediately after radiotherapy I was still sprouting underarm hair, it is only now, four years down the line ,that my leg and under-arm hair has disappeared. I am due to stop taking Tamoxifen in March 2013 and will be interested to see if any hair returns.

On another note, body odour seems to reduce with the use of hormone therapies, so no panic about anti-perspirantrs and deoderants.

    Best wishes to you all,

  • May I ask how long after lymph node removal one should avoid or be careful of cuts and Ive not been given any advice about a change of deodorant? I had 2 lymph nodes removed in September. Also, I was told not to have a bath, only a shower initially and use only unperfumed shower gel. When is it ok to use scented shower gel and when is it ok to soak in a bath? Sorry, lots of questions all at once.

  • I still haven't heard back from anyone about these questions. Any advice please?

  • I changed my deodorant post surgery to a more natural one which contains no aluminium. I've found some to be overly scented. I like Faith in Nature aloe vera one and a dr organics one same flavour. I did buy a rose one but the smell was too much. I've always used plain unscented natural stuff to wash with so just kept on using that. Its been nearly a year but still don't soak in bath but it has got easier. If your scars are healed then a little soak won't hurt. I didnt get any advice from medical team about when to do this or about shaving armpits. I do use a razor but bought a new ladyship as well and its a mix and match. I just used my best judgement. Its your body so see how you go x
