Hi - please can i ask how people built up strength and increased exercise their after cancer treatment?

i have finally finished BC treatment after 9 months (chemo//surgery and radiotherapy) and have just started letrozole and ribociclib as a preventative.

I  now have peripheral neuropathy in feet/fingers and constant fatigue.
My head is telling me i should be doing more - currently just doing about 6000 steps a day but what with fatigue and feet problem am really struggling to get motivated or know where to start but i know will help me on recovery journey.

Any hints and tips greatly appreciated as to what has worked for you.

  • Hi Harvestmoon - Thank you for reply and well done for starting swinming - sounds like we are on similar path.    I started Letrozole end of May and am now also on first cycle of Ribociclic - how are you getting on?

i was fairly active before - lots of walks / yoga classes and a love of gardening.   I remained active for first 11-12 weeks of chemo when the CIPN started - i then also changed to EC chemo so felt too ill to do much - although i did manage a short walk everyday.   My CIPN flared up again - whilst i was having radiotherapy nearly 4 weeks ago - so frustrating!

thanks to all replies i am looking into getting some  more help with the CIPN with physio and a yoga class online at moment to help with rehab,

Wishing you all the best x

  • Hi

I have just stated  on letrozole  and Ribociclib as a first stage of my treatment on a new recurrence of breast cancer after having a lumpectomy and radiotherapy 12 years ago.

I am 64yr old and have kept relatively fit but I am finding it hard to get motivated to maintain my fitness as I am struggling with what to expect from the targeted treatment.

If anyone is having or had this targeted treatment I would appreciate your feed back

    Thank you
