I’ve been on Letrozole for 3 years, (along with other pills) since my mastectomy/chemo. I did suffer from bladder infections/ sensitivity before, but these last 3 years have been much worse. I’m blaming this tablet maybe wrongly. And I know if it’s keeping me alive...
I‘m a very grateful 69 year old who is doing my best to stay healthy.
Just to add, my friend in Scotland only took Letrozole for 2 years so why do I have to be on them for 10.
Has anyone got any advice, words of wisdom for me. I’m a newby to this forum.

Thanks for that Sam, it’s my knees that are affected too...didn’t think about cod liver oil though!! x
Hi Bramble22
i take joint supplement called jointace by the firm that is like 7 oceans (don’t want to breach advertising guidelines on here). It’s 2 tablets of turmeric and cod liver oil. Really helped me a lot. Funnily enough you’re the only other person I know on SunPharma brand. I do stretching too which helps. Still stiff when I get out of a chair or bed though. Walk like a robot till I warm up!

Don’t want to worry anyone unnecessarily but if you are ER+ can you take turmeric? I do use it maybe once or twice a week in curries or paella but that’s only a teaspoons for the whole meal. Maybe someone could tell me if I’m right or not?
How do you find the Sun Pharma brand Linda? My OH just said yesterday that I seem to be having less hot flushes, I’ve only been using this brand for a week so it could just be a coincidence.
if the stretching helps I’ll maybe give yoga a try, think I’ve got a dvd around somewhere. Thanks for the tips Linda...much appreciated! x

Yes! Turmeric is a good supplement and can help with the pain caused by hormone blockers too.
Hi Bramble
i find it ok. Went on to letrozole in March and the pharmacy gave me femara when I asked. Think this was a mistake by the assistant! I really liked that but GP would not put it on my prescription cos of the expense. I just took the SunPharma as it was what they had. Next time they tried to give me Relonchem but I didn’t want to keep switching brands as I think your body needs time to get used to the SE of different ones. So now have SP on my prescription and it’s a standard one my Lloyd’s pharmacy stocks. I’ve had lots of menopausal symptoms over the last 2 years but many have settled down in time. I don’t get hot flushes but my mum and sisters never did and I also don’t drink alcohol so it could be these things rather than down to the medication brand.
I really hope it’s helping you though. Xx
