It is our wedding anniversary today :) Six years ago we wondered if we dare look into the future and this song helped us both through chemo at a scary time.
Nearly everyone has a 'special song' - Feel free to add yours and make this an uplifting playlist for the 'tough days'
Roger Hodgson (ex supertramp) Give Me Love, Give Me Life!
Hugs, G n' J
Lyrics -
GIVE ME LOVE, GIVE ME LIFE
It's feeling like it's time to ring the changes
It's feeling like it's time to be reborn
'Cause here we go again
Proclaiming it's the end
And reaching out for something
To bring it back again
We're living on a good fortune
We're cheating all our friends
So tell me, oh tell me
Now where's it going to end.
I hope it's not too late to see the danger
I'd really like to wake and see the dawn
'Cause here we go again
We're trying to pretend
We're blaming one another
For what is ours to mend
We're fighting for the future
We're ringing out the past
It feels good, it feels good
But is it going to last?
Give me love,
Give me love, give me joy, give me pain
Give me light, give me starting again
Give me hope,
Give me hope, give me sun, give me rain
Get me up, get me dancing again
Give me life,
Give me life, give me high, give me low
Give me truth, give me something to know
Give me time,
Give me time, give me room, give me rope
Give me sign, give me reason to hope
'Cause everything is a turn up, turnaround
And everything is just upside, upside-down
Well, everything is not like you'd like it to be
Everything is a two-bit, two-bit town
And everybody's just out to drag you down
Well nothing is as you'd like it to be
Well everything is a turn up, turnaround
And everything is just upside, upside-down
Well nothing is as you'd like it to be
And everything is a two-bit, two-bit town
And everybody's just out to drag you down
Well nothing is as you'd like it, like it to be
I may not love you, but I can't stop thinking 'bout you
Give me reason to hope
I see just what I want to see
Just what I want to be
I can be anytime, anyplace, anywhere
I go just where I want to go
Just when I want to know
I can go anytime, anyplace, anywhere
Things just ain't what they used to be
Ain't what they ought to be
Ain't what they've got to be, gonna be probably
Things just ain't gonna get to me
Ain't gonna bother me
Ain't gonna worry me, hurry me, let'em be
Give me love,
Give me love, give me joy, give me pain
Give me light, give me starting again
Give me hope,
Give me hope, give me sun, give me rain
Get me up, get me dancing again
Give me life,
Give me life, give me high, give me low
Give me truth, give me something to know
Give me time,
Give me time, give me room, give me rope
Give me sign, give me reason to hope
GIVE ME LIFE
I don't have breast cancer, I ha e medullary thyroid cancer, but I got emailed this link about everyone's cancer songs, and reading all the comments shows how dark my sense of humour is.
I've got a few cancer songs like, I'm not OK by my chemical romance, Mr brightside by the killers and many more, infact I made a play list for when I was having intense radiotherapy and it's available on Spotify for free for anyone. Of course with my sense of humour there was only one name for my album, NOW that's what I call cancer

I think my dark sense of humour comes from the fact that my cancer is rare and incurable. Anyway, enjoy the darkest cancer play list
Wow. That is some list. And when I am on my own I intend to listen.
Hope you are doing as well as you can.
Hi Steve,
“Well if you wanted honesty, that’s all you had to say...”
Classic song, and that’s for the playlist, it looks really good. If the numbers in your user name are what they think they are, then you’re a very similar age to me and it would appear we have similar music tastes. I wrote about the power of music when facing cancer on the post below, and included a few of my favorites which have really helped me, so I thought i’d pass some suggestions back to you.
Hope you are doing as well as you can be.
Greg
Gbear, I didn't know that song by Queen, and it's so apt...
I love the 'Now that's what I call cancer' playlist (and may copy a lot of it for my Chemo next week). I've quite a few of them on my phone already, but the way is's mixed is great! Thanks for sharing x
As a classical music lover I’ve many, many favourites but as for pop, it has to be Queen ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’
