Hi Leolady,
Thanks for your reply! You are my fab link to the outside world!
Yes, you are right, this is the season!!!
I do have 2 school age children but they are 11 and 14. The doctor reassured me that it's not contagious, it's something that flares up when your auto immune system is 'compromised' which it is, because of the Chemo/cortisone/cocktail of drugs etc.
The only precaution was that I should avoid pregnant women.
Never thought I'd be upset because I can't have Chemo!!!!!!!!! Arghhh!
Ladies....check out any rash asap because apparently catching it within 72 hours makes a big difference in treatment! I thought it was a Chemo reaction...
Hope you all have an 'uneventful' Tuesday... : )
Reciprocated.I was wondering why my onco got all iffy about my rashes! NOW I KNOW.
Me too about chemo, missed mine last week due to a breakdown in their communication. BUT .... it did mean i got to enjoy this lovely weekend weather
Made my big decision today.......... the hair clippers are n charge. Got to the point where the hair loss each day is more distressing than the thought of shaving it all off. Mr Leo really upset about it. I went for retail therapy and ordered some pre-made scarves/headgear; phoned and made wig fitting appts. Oh well wont be spending the kids inheritance on holidays this year instead it will be chemo cheer up purchases.
Gentle hugs chums

Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall ..... But when you refuse to stand up again ....... So, I get knocked down but I get up again. x

I cut all my (very long, never cut : 0 ) hair off after about 6 weeks of chemo because it meant I was taking control of the situation and psychologically it felt better than waiting for it to fall out
Think about leaving sideburns that can be used to fake hair when you wear a hat or blend in with a hairline when wearing a wig - strangely enough mine still haven't fallen out...you can always cut them off later if they're not for you.
Also, leave an inch or so of hair, I made the mistake of getting it shaved and the stubble was really painful when my hair was falling out, especially when lying down in bed...just some advice to avoid restless nights!
Don't forget wigs can be cut and adjusted to your preferred style too, just in case you don't get it right first go!
Good luck with the new look, my wig has saved my sanity! xxx
I had the same treatment as you yesterday with the cold cap. Felt a bit sick and tired today but not to bad. Hope you got on ok today x
Well ... here I am, back inside! Neutrophils at 0.3!
Oh poop - that stinks!
Hope it's a short visit and that they let you out very quickly!
Hugs to you..
Hi summer holiday,
I’m on week 9 of weekLy Taxol, now aiming for 12 as it’s working.
Steroids - l only now have the steroids via IV on chemo day, l stopped taking the 4 x 2mg on Sat and Sun as l found steroids made me feel worse, made me very emotional, like hysterical crying, spoke to onc and he said drop them, and lm much better.Â
I’ve been fine without, lm much better on Taxol, l was pretty ill on the dreaded EC, but lots of women ate fine.

Good luck for today and tomorrow Lindsay (Leolady56 )
Hopefully the SE will stay away a bit this time. Good luck with the cards - may be worth sticking to simple games like snap, although you may get frowned upon if you shout too loudly in Room 10 (only one number away from room 101...)
