Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Seaspirit ... I see it’s going to be another hot weekend so keep getting into the sea to keep cool.. plenty of the factor stuff.
you sound very much like a free spirit ... love it .. I don’t think nudists would bat an eyelid at anything.
Hugs xx

Hi seaspirit44
What a breath of fresh air and joy your post is! Thank You! I love It
Just wondering if you'd mind sharing some of your experiences with me. I'm waiting for my appointment for a mastectomy and yet to make a decision around reconstruction, prosthetic or neither???
Also interested to hear about your swimming boob and any others you have and what you think of them.
Thanks...enjoy that beach
Hi Baduki1, good luck for your op.
It took me a while to,get used to the mastectomy scar, but I was quite confident with the 'comfy' supplied by the hospital. I am very lucky to,have a specialist lingerie shop nearby, and they measured me for pocketed bras and provided a special silicon boob. I was too sore to wear at first, but it was very comfortable later on. I was greatly helped by my lovely husband, who when I showed him the scar, said'it's still you' bless him.
I later got a swimming boob from Amoena online. It is tougher silicon and cheaper, and in the end I wear swimming boobs all the time. The others are fragile and very very expensive. I get my bras form Amoena too. Nice bright colours, avoiding the dreaded beige. Get bikinis and tanking a from them too. If you get the size wrong you can exchange.
I had radiotherapy on the mastectomy side and was a bit worried about healing as the skin can be fragile. I was relieved I was unconstructed when the lump appeared, how would Imhave know with an implant in place?
I had left mastectomy and right lumpectomy with axillary clearance both sides. Having 2 arms at risk of lymphoedema is a problem, but I use insect repellant and got measured for sleeves which I use if I get bites or it is very hot, and if I have to have drips etc, been OK so far.
Finally, don't know if you will need chemo, but if you do and lose your hair the best thing is to shave your head when the hair starts to fall out, less upsetting. I bought 13 cheap wigs from eBay and wore a different one each week at the hospital. They all came to see which one I had on, I used toupee tape to stick them on, bought online from CaptainHair. My worst fear was it blowing off in public!
Anything else you want to know l,ease let me know.
Big hugs xxxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

I can’t believe you did 5. Miles!!!
I have spent yesterday and today in a ventilated fllat...it is too hot for me I’m afraid I go all swoony and fainty....but have been doing some nice things, knitted a flouncy thin scarf and re-areanged my b’day flowers to make piccies for my cards....and read, and tidied up...and geneerally thought I was so fortunate that I didnt have to fo out to work....heard from lovely twin who sounded very upbeat...that was lovely.
Sorry,Have no outdoor photos today...and a bit too hot to walk...but been active indoors xx(happily)
I thought you’d been growing roses Violetsniff Sounds as though you’ve been extremely busy ..... like the sound of your knitted flouncy scarf. You can’t beat old historical places...lots of atmosphere......good if they have a cathedral too.
Youre getting good capturing bees ...on your phone again ?
seaspirit44 hope you’re happily splashing around and swimming of course
Hoping for a good nights sleep ...
xx

Beautiful picture Moomy. I love lavender, so far have 6 varieties in the garden. I was showing my twin Grand Daughters this picture of a bee, it is too hot for them to sleep,(they are four and a half and just recognising words) when Ylva said all excitedly, she is called Moomin, I love Moomins Grandma!
Yes, Flossie, phone again! It’s remarkably good at catching and taking a decent photo though the image might be better without the cover....
Hi LinylouI’m moomy as the kids grew too big to be calling us mum and dad, we all loved ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ and there’s a reference to moomy and old kaka, so the kids decided on those as our nicknames! It stuck!
