Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Fab photos all. Thanks for the castle invitation Runner_5 ! And would love to see the badgers emerge from the holes. Short walks for me too Violetsniff in this heat, am heading for Edinburgh today so hopefully cooler and some decent walks. Then Berwick and a boat trip to see some puffins I hope! Also looks much cooler there. This is my view on short walk to train station this morning… love to all, HFxx
Dolphins were off the coast last week HappyFeet1 between Berwick and Holy island . Obviously they went into hiding when we were on the island . Enjoy your trip
Ooh dolphins would be wonderful!! I’m going from Seahouses, round the Farne Islands I think. Rain is possible but I don’t care! Hopefully puffins at least, anything else a bonus. Seals quite likely I think. Xx
Today we went to a mountain village. There was quite a few slopes to push the chair up ànd mum and I had to stay on the village's lower streets but it was so pretty and not quite as hot as the coast. Sitting on our terrace for tea now it's 32° with a very warm night anticipated. But mum loves the heat. She used to be a sunbather and still copes well. Obviously she's having lots of liquid and wearing 100% cotton clothes and a large floppy sunhat.
HappyFeet1 Ooo Dolphins!
I remember once on a “Singles Holiday”(yes-)we went to Minack Theatre to watch a Play and some people told us that very recently there had been people watching the Play and right at the end of it,the Dolphins came out and we’re seen in the background gambolling xx
Lacomtekp , it must be a magical feeling having your mum there with you and going to all these lovely places.... and more than anything I imagine your dear mum is loving this
Hoping you had a great time Northerner , it does sound amazing - I'd have the same luck....
Sssshhhh!! You might of seen the dolphins in the distance
xxx
I hope so. She says she's enjoying herself although her memory is worse. But to have read two good sized paperbacks already......not quite Sunday Times bestsellers but not Mills and Boon either is very good for her age.
