So in  5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.
Hi Mmmmm I think it’s always like that too. When I went for my PET results he said it’s all clear. He had the report on the screen and as I moved forward to try and read it he started scrolling quickly so that I couldn’t. I was going to ask for a copy of the written report after I had left there but haven’t got round to it yet.
So pleased you’re healing well and the neater scar is a bonus in the scheme of things. Let’s hope you won’t ever be going back ever again for more surgery and you can celebrate the all clear year.
Im ok, still waiting for an appointment to come through from the Lymphoedema Clinic. BCN said if you haven’t heard within 2 weeks then call us and we will chase it for you. It was 2 weeks yesterday so I will give it until Monday and then chase it up.
Im taking my granddaughter out for the day tomorrow, we are going to London ZSL zoo, haven’t been there since I was a child. We’ve watched the series they have on tv and they seem to be doing some great conservation work.
Hope all of you lovely ladies are ok and looking forward to what might be a bit of summer weather over the next few days. Jackie xx
Hi
I'm like you and feel a lot better with all the knowledge I can get ! Think it a control thing with me .
Luckily enough they're not adverse to this in my area constantly asking have you any questions ?
Surgeon took me through to consultants room to show me how my cancer was measured by them on screens no lump ..calcification .He did this to help me make decision .
I tend to read a lot prior to appointments usually I find something I want to know and will ask .
Can be fun last one was with Oncologist when I asked if my chest wall had been checked she answered with yes it will have I then said could I see on screen was it checked For margins of 2 or 10 She was expresssed surprise saying it would have been 2 but instantly put screen back on to show me it had been 10 .
Just think what fun you could have writing down every question you have in the next 6m in prep for that meeting lol
jacks77 have a lovely day tomorrow, fx something arrives in post over weekend so you don't need to chase up on monday. Ypu have been waiting too long!
The guy i saw today quickly flicked it off his screen, although i had a butchers round the curtain when he went to get a nurse to chaperone, unforunately it was only the bottom of the report he had up, would have loved to have scrolled up. Lol
I chuckled at you trying to take a sneaky look. It’s wrong really that they are sort of secretive and actually I am definitely going to ask for copies of my Nuclear bone scan and the PET-CT now. They have to let you have them but won’t email them to you because of data protection. If I encounter any problems then I will just get my GP to request them and go and get a copy. Do they not realise that by being so secretive it makes us think something is wrong???
Thanks I'm looking forward to tomorrow, love spending time with her. Xx
... a bonus having a neater scar. Here’s to you having a double celebration next year at this time. Docs should show you the whole report...ask for a copy ... as should you jacks77. I’ve got my reports from first biopsy to last and scan (dexa). If I forget to ask for copies of letters and reports when I’m in clinic I phone the secretary and, so far, I’ve managed to get them ok.
Have a good day
xx

After my first op, I did request a copy of my notes as I felt (as it happens I saw post op at that time, the same guy I saw yesterday) that Although they had said all was clear, I was never told enough detail for my liking. I happen to have photos of the more recent stuff from each time I went in to hospital.....well they do leave your file on the table at your bed (cue feeling like a naughty schoolgirl) so I could read for myself.
I discovered last night whilst trying to remove the dressing adhesive (it's very stubborn) from my skin, that I actually have a mm or 2 of an internal stitch poking out my skin about 5mm below my scar. Sure it'll be fine, but have left msg with BCN to be on safe side.
I’m like you .... I like to know. Don’t blame you taking a pic .. I did that too, only of the follow up regime the breast clinic had post treatment..it was stuck on the clinic wall while I was waiting for bcn to come back. Definitely get that rogue bit of stitch seen..probably just needs trimming.

Hi
just putting this out there
Whose body is it any way ?
Went to a review yesterday for hubby after an arthritis op
Consultant put up x rays on the screen and hubby got up to look at them . Consultant got twitchy . Hubby said ‘ I think you will find that is my body. So it’s fine for me to see.’
Change of attitude in a good way from consultant
But we must stress and push the ‘whose body is this ?’
Take care

Hi everyone hope you are all doing well.
I had been having very sore and stiff joints, saw oncologist and they did a scan. Nothing sinister thank god. Was told its arthritis and go to see your GP for pain relief. Well I dont like the thought of taking pain killers long term so got googling to try and find out what may help. Came across a old McMillan post which stated that after cancer and chemo lots of people are low in vitamin D and D3 especially if they dont get much sun and wear a high factor sun screen. Which during chemo and radio you are advised not to sun yourself. It stated that lack of vitamin D3 can result in inflamation of the joints. I bought myself some once a day D3 tabs from holland and Barrett and it only bloody works, after 10 ish days of taking that little tablet my hip, knees, hands and elbows are all much better. It's not 100% better but 85% and I feel so much better.
Hope it helps someone else.
