So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?
  • Jbee66 - Thanks Jan it was a bit of a shock because I'd not lost anything then I had a couple of brushes full of hair strands! Thankfully no one else can tell which is good and chemo number 2 went ahead today and I braved the cold cap again which I think was fitted tighter to my head and I also wet it a lot more too so hoping it makes a difference but will keep you posted! I' feeling a bit nauseos now but hoping the sickness meds keep it at bay as they have done before, hope you are ok, Deb xxx

Debs hope the sickness tabs do their job, and nauseous feelings not too bad. I lose what seems like 100s of hairs daily, and that's without chemo, so fx it's just normal loss and cold cap doing its job

Bigguy, good point, well made, dh would indeed think green light was lit, good job i didn't get the tasks mixed up!

Yesterday and tonight I'm feeling more tired after rt than i had been, so don't know if it's fatigue starting to kick in, or it's just because it's first full week of sessions and daily travel in more

  • Hi ladies.

Hope your day full of appointments went ok and the onco could help with different anti sick meds for cycle 2. Its natural you will be worried after a rubbish first cycle but tomorrow is a step nearer the end of the worst bit of treatment for you so keep your chin up and we will be thinking of you.

Another one under the belt for you. Hope the nausea is a passing thing and you get a good nights sleep.

Yay the RT days are flying by. Do  keep us posted on DHs shopping exploits...keeps us sane to know all men are the same.

I've had good productive day and got lots done including funding application for school PTA...load of work and shouldn't have fallen to me but always pays to show willing and keep in headteachers good books doesnt it our Lindsay!!?? Cake done for school bake off..bit lumpy and bumpy as I am useless with icing but its turned out reasonably well. Really should sit and read through the lovely chemo handbook the lovely NHS has gifted me but had a decent day so it can wait until tomorrow evening when the pre-chemo nerves kick in.

    Much love to you all.

Well done Deb another one ticked off. Sounds like you got that cap on nice and tight. I will wet mine a bit more next week I think.

Hope your sicky feeling disappears quick and you have a restful sleep. You deserve it after the trauma of chemo day.

I'm ok thanks needed antibiotics for a chesty cough but it's on its way out.

    Take it easy

  • Ladies who are having CT quick question....have you done anything with your nails for chemo? Sure I read somewhere on here about wearing dark nail varnish. I currently have a 7 in 1 nail protection varnish on so dont know wether to leave that or put some proper varnish on.

  • The cake...thank Christ she doesnt go to a posh school with a coat of arms for a logo, the oak leaf was challenging for me!!

Love the cake JammyR!! You’re very clever!!

Regarding the nails, I’d read that it’s best to wear a dark colour varnish but also not to use nail varnish!! Confusing!! I decided to leave mine naked so I can keep an eye them. Glad I did as my right big toenail’s gone black :-(

Chemo....the gift that keeps in giving!!

    xXx

  • Hi  i have heard that your nails go brown !! I was advised to use dark polish. Hasn’t happened as yet so just using a nail protein with keratin to try and help them along!!

    Love Edwina xx
