The operation

So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?
  • Hi

So pleased to hear your scan was normal. What’s strange is that when I started my chemo I was put on Vitamin D3  and told to continue with them afterwards, my GP prescribes them for me on prescription now. Great news that they seem to be helping you and even if it’s 85% better that’s a brilliant result xx

  • Hi

I'm really glad to hear your scan was clear. My GP prescribed vit d too after doing a blood test and seeing I was low. Handy as prescriptions are free here. I don’t know if that’s made a difference in itself to my achy joints as I also take a 7 seas supplement (jointace). That’s made a massive difference if you fancied trying it too.

  • Hi ladies

Not sure if any of you still check in on here but thought I’d just see if all was good with everyone.

    Hi

Yes I often pop on here to see if the old operation thread is still alive and kicking.  I also have a look on the chemo and radio thread just in case I can help anyone with what to expect.

Hope you are doing well Jackie. I have a bit of lymphoedema in my hand, arm and under my scar but apart from that I'm all good.  My hair is now the same as it was before I lost it and my weight is coming down slowly but surely.  Been doing some cardio to help with stamina and it has really helped. Still get pain around my mastectomy site and ribs but have been told it's just one of those things. This is now my normal and I have just got to come to terms with that.

Would be lovely to hear how everyone else is doing.

    Good to hear from you.

  • Hi

Good to hear from you. I did post at Christmas but there weren’t many responses so I guessed everyone was busy.
I have Lymphoedema too, I have onco physio twice a month which helps and kinesio taping. I have compression sleeves that I wear during the day, don’t like them but they help too I think.
I’ve kept my hair short, I really like it and would never have dreamt of chopping it all off, as they say there’s a light at the end of every tunnel lol.
Like you I still have discomfort in my breast area and chest wall but agree it’s just one of those things, the Letrozole is my problem for sure but I need to take it. I’ve only got a year left of the ZA infusions so by January there won’t be anymore visits to the dreaded chemo unit.
Great news that you’re still losing weight, I gave up worrying!
I hope everyone else is doing well too.

  • Hi there.. yes I have a look on   here too. I'm good.  I'm on letrozole and dont seem to have any side effects.  Still aware of the boob  area...slight discomfort but i can live with that.   Ive got full movement back so I'm good.  Nice to catch up with you.

  • Great news that you’re coping with the Letrozole. I thought the boob area would be over and done with a few weeks/months later but it’s not to be. I used to be concerned but it seems many ladies have ongoing problems for a long time afterwards and like you I’m learning to live with it. xx
