Hi toxophilite,
thanks for the advice, I’ve got the old editor on, in the box I’m changing the numbers for the picture size to 300x300 I’m not sure what kb’s are? Hopeless aren’t I? it doesn’t show all of the typing in the box either. I’m getting by though. In between my granddaughter pooing on me twice in the last half an hour!

Aaaarrrgghh! Tech issues!! JMC04 you might need to edit the pictures first to make them smaller - lower quality will make the file size smaller. Just changing the size in the edit box doesn't achieve that unfortunately.
They are trying to migrate the site to cloud servers. But things seem to go wrong all the time with the background stuff needed to achieve that.
And, sadly, the site has become very very busy in the last year. Which is causing the email server to crash all the time.

GBear aaaaagh they are cute! I've never seen baby hedgehogs... used to have one in the garden that just went round and round a manhole cover!
Funny thing is I was just taking my meds and you came into my mind and was wondering where you were. I feel much better thanks..it's everyone on here takes your mind off things.

Hi Weeblemum,
Im near Barnstaple in N Devon. We moved from West Wales, I lived quite far from anywhere there, it was beautiful but it was tough going through cancer treatment being so far from family and friends/ hospitals etc.

Hi Londonlass
So sorry to hear that you had a fall.  I hope you're feeling better.  Yes it is so embarrassing.  When I was in my mid  40's I had a lot of falls, felt so stupid and embarrassed as people rushed to help me up,  Don't know what caused it and I put it down to rushing, but it wasn't that.  When we moved here I asked for a referral to the falls nurse but was told that I was too young.  I didn't accept that and insisted on a referral.  I was then referred to the mobility centre,  part of the RD&E.  They were very good, I had small inserts made for my shoes and found that they helped but had to go into 'sensible shoes' for most of the time. This was hard as I love my pretty shoes, but needs must.  I did still wear my high heels for special occasions. Â
All was ok until I had chemo.  I started falling again, and my daughter suggested I had a stick.  I was horrified at the thought, but it was the best thing that I did.  It made me feel secure and I didn't fall.  I have joint problems and continuing chemo caused more problems and at one point I needed crutches.  I gradually got stronger and went from crutches back to a  stick and now I manage without it (most of the time that is) but I always keep my stick  in the car -and do use it if I need it.
I bought a 'leopard skin' print stick which I had adjusted to the correct height for me, and I started to notice how many young people were using sticks and I didn't feel so self conscious about having one.
My thought was that if a stick kept me safe it was better than continually falling and the consequences of a bad fall. Â
Have a word with your GP and see if he will give you a referral to the falls nurse. Â It might help.
I had some lovely news today, my cousin's daughter had her second baby yesterday. Â She's 24 and was diagnosed with MS at 19 but the latest medication is really suiting her, Â What is so surprising is that her symptoms disappear when she's pregnant and she is able to leave off all medication. Â GP says this is normal for young MS sufferers. Â
Take care Sal and I hope you have a good sleep tonight. Â Sending you love and hugs.

toxophilite don't know if you remember ages ago I said I'd applied to start an archery course? This was 2 years ago and after 6 months or so I got on it but was working on the Sat mornings when it was held. Well they kept me on the list and today over 18 mths later they said I could start the next course next month but can't now because of my bad arm...grrrrr
Just wanted to ask if you know of any way I would be able to or is it a complete right off?
Thanks
xx
Hey how bad is the arm? And is it a problem to lift weight or to pull across or chest? or both? The bow itself weighs in the region of 2kg (4lb), and to draw it you would be pulling around 18lb on a beginners course. Which is actually far easier than it sounds.
If you don't mind sharing a few details about the arm, we may be able to work out something.

Really struggling today really, i was getting low on pain meds so I reduced them yesterday incase I couldn’t get tgem because the prescription was late. Luckily it was tgere and so i coukd take it to the pharmacy. I have all my meds except my tramdol/paracetamol sent direct to the pharmacy and i just pick them up there. But b I reduced the pain meds once they wore off again i was finding i was getting alot of discomfort and pain so I know I need to keep up the dose, so wish i didnt need them. See how having tgem 6-8 a dsy helps. I see the renal specialist on Saturday and hopefully i will get an action plan.
I went to visit my friend in hospital the on thats just been diagnosed eith bowel cancer i was showing her the site and explaning that if she was to join she can speak to others going though it. Far better knowledge. I fall asleep before after posting the baby hedge, although thats a stock picture we regular have hedgehogs living in the garden and one year there was a couple of babies when i saw the picture it reminded me. just woke again, my meds and pain is making my eyes heavy as the meds are kicking in. So no doubt i will fall asleep again soon, so if i do wanted to say good night and hope you can sleep well.
