Thanks fruit loops. Tiki is 16 and arthritic, we're a good pair! Had a better day today just resting.
Jackiewackie10 I know my local cancer support charity do volunteer drivers to and from hospital appts. Criteria is just to have cancer. Also some organisations do hospital transport that isn't cancer specific. Might be worth asking around to see what's available where you are? Sadly won't help with the travel time or earliness though.
moomy (((gentle hugs))) hope you manage some sleep and it eases up soon
Night all xx
Jackiewackie10 .....You've done well so far keeping going. I'm glad you found a coping mechanism in your work. However, don't be too hard on yourself once the radiotherapy starts. Your body obviously coped well with the chemo but with radiotherapy you can develop severe fatigue. If that happens, try not to fight it by struggling into work....listen to your body and rest if you need too. Fatigue isn't the same as feeling tired and weary. When it hit me, I couldn't do anything. I'd be out in the street and my legs would stop working and I'd have to sit down. Before hand I had had no idea exactly what fatigue involved and unfortunately the worst time for me was while we took a ' treatment is over' holiday to Italy.
I love the idea of the tinselled turbans. Go for it.....and don't forget to look into that radiotherapy transport. There's nothing feeble in using it to help you get through and feel less exhausted.
Take care.
moomy hiya our gp are useless. Not even 1 phone call to see how I've been. However I did get a phone call as my thyroid tests were slightly under which they have never got right and said is there a reason why the levels are low !! BoxOfFrogs I will have a look what's out there. Also there is train stations near by which again was hoping for later times. Think I will have to play it by ear each day! Lacomtekp I have bern very lucky and work have been very supportive. I only work 3 days a week and my boss's wife has gone through her cancer journey so he's very understanding.
Will keep u all posted xx
Look...
This is the earliest daffodil I have had since I lived here....25 years. Global warming is a fact....but it's lovely to see.
That's so very very early! Are winters mild with you? Not expecting daffs for months here.
I've had two very restful days, ready for a busier weekend with friends and a panto with 2 wee boys (friend's grandkids). Feeling calmer, and also seem to have learnt the trick to sleeping on my back!!
moomy how are you fairing today?
How's everyone doing with treatment, surgery, life?
xx
That is a nice thought, about the guinea pigs. Feeling a bit blue, lost my young cat 3 wks ago he was run over.
Just been getting a bit of chest pain. I'll have a chat with the GP on Monday. I don't fancy going to A & E unless I really have to. It was a night mare last year. Xxx
