As I was feeling so upset at the thought of going back to that hospital, I have decided to phone the GP, with apologies for not saying at the time, to refer me where my husband has his ca skin treated.
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
WhatHappened I'm so sorry that your dearest Max is going through these problems. You may be right that the increased mobility has shown up cerebral decline due to age. And the injection is perhaps not appropriate. Maybe the Oral anti inflammatory medicine would be better.
If he is 14-15 years you know he is at the end of his life and nobody could have given him a more comfortable and loving home than you and your husband. To be out of pain in a comfy, safe place where he knows where all the furniture is and knows you will wait on his every need. Is a good deal for any animal or human. I know you, and that woofer will be spoilt with chicken and all his favourite treats and his little trots round the garden. So if I was you I would make a vet appointment and say you have decided on a sofa based, completely pain free, spoiled rotten end of life care for Max and get the vet to supply the Oral painkillers. But that is just my opinion. If you want to try the eye operation to increase his quality of life that's great,, if it can be done without causing any distress.
Good luck with choosing the right thing. I trust you completely xx
Lovely photo Snowys Mum I do not believe you are the age you say. You look 20 years younger!!
I think you’re right, seaspirit44 , you really don’t want to run that risk of meeting the same person again!
Snowys Mum you really do look stunning and that could easily be a photo in the Med!

Wow Snowys Mum !you look fabulous!!
and seaspirit44 so sorry you had that experience with a learner Doctor.
when I had my hip op the anaesthetist asked if I minded having a learner ….I said I don’t really want that.He proceeded to give me a lecture on how they need to learn etc etc which went on for a long time.Yes ,I am fully aware of that having worked in Hospitals all my life…but just this once would you mind actually giving me the choice??xxxx(if he had read my notes he would have seen I am an anxious person….)They we’re great but unfortunately he was a bit overbearing….
What a lovely response to you WhatHappened from Snowys Mum.I agree.
and Lacomtekp poor son!!!
xx
Thank you for the nice comments about my photo. I think it was just a lucky shot.
You did right Violetsniff saying no learners, we have done enough service to medicine. Let someone else take a turn. When my daughter was in labour having my grandson they said was it okay for her to have a male student midwife? Yes yes they said until everyone had left the room and then turned to me saying "Mum go and tell them no I want a female midwife" So I had to trail down and say sorry to this young lad.
Fair enough, Snowys Mum and Violetsniff , although we all had to learn, working in the NHS, we did have one-to-one close supervision which I suspect doesn’t happen enough now? And yes, I’m not sure I’d want an apprentice ……
