Glad you got results Ninsim I suspect your mind is in a total spin though. Did you ask them what they suggested was the best way forward for you? If you need, maybe after you’ve been able to ‘sleep on it’, perhaps phone to talk to your BCN and let her lead you through the way forward, she will know what may be the best treatment route, and will help you sort it out in your mind.

They said the prognosis post lymph removal is the same as with radio its just what id prefer - mind wise its removal, but chance of lymphodema is at 20-30%. They wont decide for me, its just up to me. If the scan would have showed it there they'd have removed, so Im just trying to think that theyd have done it anyway had they known it was there. Lot to take on board

p.s see how good I’m being! Not thinking about my MRI on Dec 30th or appt in Jan at all okay maybe it’s on my mind, just a little bit! But I’m trying hard not too!
Ninsim Pleased to hear you are happy with your decision to have a mastectomy as treatment. Now it’s just another decision to make! My suggestion is like moomy suggested, talk to BCN and then look at the pros and cons for both and then finally go with whichever option YOU can live with, without regrets! As far as I know both options would remove or kill any possible cancer cells. Even back 10years ago when I had my treatment they were starting to investigate whether node removal was necessary or if Radiotherapy would have just as positive an outcome! Although am I right in thinking even if you have Radiotherapy you still need to be cautious about Lymphoedema? So no blood pressure readings or needles in that arm? Worth asking your nurse!
If after asking your nurse you still aren’t sure arrange an appointment with your surgeon again and ask them what they would recommend if it was there mother or sister in your situation. Best way to get an ‘honest’ answer! Sending (((((hugs)))) your way! Xxxx

Northerner that has made me spit out my cup of tea!!!!! Admin...PLEASE can we have a laugh emoji???
Glad you got your results Ninsim and that you made the right decision having a mastectomy. So many decisions for you to make. I love going to Wales. My husband is Welsh, and his father didn’t learn English until he was a teenager.
LondonLass re “am I right in thinking even if you have Radiotherapy you still need to be cautious about Lymphoedema? So no blood pressure readings or needles in that arm”. I had left side RT in July and no one mentioned that to me, I’ve had a Covid and a Flu jab in my left arm. Maybe I shouldn’t have done. Will make sure I get my Shingles one in my right arm. I’ll be googling now to see what I can find out.
My bone scan appointment has come through for next week. I’ve had pains at rest for months in both thighs, rib and pelvis. I’m pleased they’re going to check it out.
Hugs to all xx
Ive been told with the centinel node biopsy plus mastectomy to always vaccinate and have blood pressure taken in the opposite arm.
Northerner heck! We'll send paracteamol and a fry up through in the morning!
LondonLass the team have said they cant give an opinion as the results are the same- the surgeon said i have no preference. I'm listening to Liz O'Riordan with Dr.Melanie Thomas discussing lymphodema. Keeping weight down below 25 bmi (this I need to do), skincare massage of arm, excercise help but its just luck of the draw with it really
