I went to see Downton 2 last night at our little cinema. Can you imagine....a tiny town in rural France has new releases just 10 days after initial release with... seances? ....I forget the English word....in VO. Next week is the new Topgun. I told OH to go but whether he will on his own, I don't know. As for Downton....take tissues...and it's more serious this time.
Yes Lacomtekp I agree about tge need for tissues. The new Downton film is wonderful and very emotional. Interesting it gets shown in France so soon after opening night.
I have got tickets booked for Topgun. Really looking forward to that one. My husband and I both have limitless as we go to the cinema all the time.
I am entered in the Race for Life tomorrow. I am feeling extremely tired and have a sore knee but am looking forward to it. My friend who was doing the race with me is poorly so I might have to take my earphones and listen to music as I go round.
Northerner fantastic news about granddaughter and neice. Many congratulations to them both and good luck to your grandson. What an incredible job that would be. zthere is a film about someone going out and looking after the penguins. It was from the 70s or 80s I think.
Flossie25 I am exhausted just reading about all your house improvements.
LondonLass yay hooray for Pebbles xx
Northerner lovely to hear about the young people's careers.
moomy I predict you will be fine and have a great time. Meeting nice people and having adventures.
Mag123 good luck for the race for life, I'm sure there will be people to run/walk with
Lacomtekp enjoy the heat as its quite chilly here. I watched my grandson play tennis in a tournament and I wore a light jumper and coat and was cold. Grandson won both doubles and singles.
I have actually seen one Downton film and thought it was stylish and good escapism for an hour or two.
Well my news is I went to a party last night (hen) and it was awful. Never again, I don't drink you see and it was all about drinking and being loud. It was in my bosses house so I did get a nosy at the house and two people who were very drunk confined interesting secrets. I took presents and wore a nice dress and was out of place I suppose. I left Graham and Norman and my painting by numbers, it won't happen again.
Will post a pic of something it may be a guinea pig x
Awwww, sorry you didn’t enjoy the party, Snowys Mum! But must have been fun nosing your boss’ house?! Bless you for that vote of confidence, it’s indeed confidence I need, I’m a real mix of looking forward to it and yet bricking it! I know I can do it, I’m fine driving but full of the ‘what if’s’ at the same time.
Anyway, I’ve managed to hit the ‘flag to moderator’ again! It’s really bad, as it’s so easy to do. I’ve suggested they have a ‘are you sure, yes/no’ button before a post gets accidentally removed but that hasn’t happened yet. Sorry, I think it’s one of Mag123’s posts.
Night night dear Fruit Loops, sleep well and stay safe
lots of sleepy fairy dust for all who wish
hugs xxx

No, not subtitlesNortherner.( For those who like to know.....sous titre in French.)
We are very lucky....films in VO are just that so provided you don't slip up and VO was Japanese or Italian.....it's the same film as you saw . Seances......maybe it doesn't translate into one word......it's used to explain the slot of time something is shown or done usually regularly. I suppose 'screening' for a film is closest but it can be used for other types of meetings, gatherings etc which is why I was searching my very worn brain!
Today we are going to a 40th wedding anniversary celebration. It is going to be very hot so I hope there will be shade as it's an all afternoon, garden event. I have changed my outfit at least five times as it became obvious it was going to be upper 30's. Since chemo my skin burns so quickly and I know the advice is stay out of sun......We have had a nightmare with gift. Bought a beautiful rose ( and not so cheap!) last Sunday only to have it develop a fungal disease. Took it back.....changed without difficulty, exchange inspected by owner but by Friday....same fungus. Tried two different nurseries yesterday...all have the fungus when you look carefully. It must be the advanced plant growth and early heat. Nothing looked suitable for gifting. In the end we drove to another town and bought a large minature which is a house plant so no mould but can be transferred to garden later. OH says it's turned into the most expensive gift ever if you add in the fuel costs and mental effort! .....
Not sure why photo loaded at top...
Have a good day. Enjoy the sun. Try not to worry if you're waiting on news although I know that's very difficult. Take care all.
