“ The only constant thing in life is change “
Hi GodWilling how you doing, I hope you can put things aside just for Christmas now you have the facts and figures. My tumour was 6cm, had mastectomy and full node clearance and have been on tamoxifen for just over a year now so pretty similar. I have been fine with the tamoxifen on the whole, it’s played havoc with my periods but can bring on early menopause. The only uncomfortable side effect I have is joint pain, elbows and knuckles mostly but nothing unmanageable. I had 4 weeks of radio and worked through it, was scared to death but it was actually not bad and the nursing teams but you so at ease. I just had a bit of burning but they have something for that to ease it. I refused chemo as when they went through the figures it was a minuscule difference between radio and chemo and chance of reoccurrence. Take time out to enjoy Christmas and will be with you in the new year for all your appointments xx huge hugs
That made me giggle and I wonder how many of the trees that were put up early to bring cheer have already seen better days
huge hugs xxxx
LondonLass that’s really good news, have a super Christmas xx
Hope your daughter gets sorted I think a lot of people in Bristol are without water after pipe problems. Water is being tanked in. Are you now in Tier 4? We are still in Tier 3 but for how long ?
Christmas wishes xx

I finished work for Christmas yesterday (back in on Tuesday) and had a mad day today. Last shopping trip to pick up turkeys. Unfortunately had to go to a funeral but it was a beautiful service. Then home to get a start on food prep. I cook 2 Christmas dinners, 1 is for my eldest who is a chef (for now!!! back in tier 3 means he is at real risk of redundancy) so I cook him and his family a dinner as he is usually working Christmas Day or just wants a day off from cooking. My whole family absolutely adore pigs in blankets so copious amounts of these have been made and cooked today.
Hope everyone is all set for your Christmases especially those that have had to make last minute changes
Huge hugs xxxx Anne
Congratulations!! So pleased to hear that you have had a good result and that your oncologist is not too worried . Now you can have a really Happy Christmas. You must be very relieved and hopefully feel much calmer. Sorry my post is so late but still heartfelt. sending extra big hugs to you xxxKwissy
So pleased that you now have a plan and that the cancer is only in one breast. That is good news . So now you will be able to have a more relaxed Christmas ,I hope. We told you it would be better once you had a plan ! Relax about it all unntil the New Year and then ask your questions of any of us or trusted sites like Macmillan or Breast Cancer Care. Please do not go on Dr Google it is so often out of date or just not true. Breast cancer treatment has changed so much in the last 20 years or so and I can vouch for that personally. Have a good Christmas with your family- sending congratulatory hugs xxxKwissy
Hello Santababy I'm doing well thanks hope you are too. Nice to have you back.
Jejke said the same thing about %'s and deciding whether to take something or not so I will definitely be asking that question for everything they suggest. I was anxious about the tamoxifen because some people seem to really struggle with it but sounds like some don't from your experience, which is good to know.
I'm 51 and I think menopause must have started on it's own anyway so not bothered about that. I don't suffer hormonally so no hot flushes, teariness or anything really.
Christmas eve tomorrow already, these last several days have just flown by.
Have a great Christmas. Love and hugs xx
Thank you Kwissy, this is one of those occasions when I am very happy to be told 'i told you so' . I'm definitely much more relaxed and almost feeling normal, I've even been forgetting about it for good stretches of time.
Wishing you and your family a great Christmas.
Love and hugs and best wishes xx
