In 1995 when these 2 teams met in a final my brother was getting married.  In 2003 my son was getting married. In 2004 Wales won the 6 nations.  In 2015 my brother was getting married (again). No wedding this year

Hi - aw, thanks for thinking of me! I was just reading back  - hurrah for your good news! Hopefully the Cape will continue working for you for a long time yet. I had to have breaks due to the hand and foot but mine didn't improve, which was why I had to come off it (after 9 cycles)  - shame as the drug was working on the cancer itself!

I've been MIA as I've just come back from a few days in Leeds watching the lovely Northern Ballet perform Dracula - perfect for Halloween. I managed to get through the visit without any random visits to hospital this time, which is good!!!

Anyway, just read back a few pages- bit were you all busy! If I have forgotten anyone, please forgive me...

    - looking after pets is like having toddlers again, especially with the early mornings and the not being able to go out and leave them alone! Hope he won't be too frightened by the fireworks that are bound to be around today.

    - glad you enjoyed the murder mystery night! We used to hold our own weekends with a bunch of mad friends - we used to book a big house somewhere and go away for the weekend and do stupid activities then dress up for the game and dinner on the Saturday evening - it was great fun!

    - well done for at least trying to get to bed earlier - I'm terrible - I used to ban myself from playing on my tablet at night - reading or crosswords would make me drift off. These days, I can be playing until 4am then I wonder why I'm tired the next day! I have no will power to stop when I have a certain amount of time with unlimited lives!!!  Glad that Baxter is beginning to find his way in - hopefully he has good sheller when it's as horrible as it is today.

    - you can never have too many drugs, especially those drugs that counteract the other drugs... Hopefully the new ones will make you feel a lot better!

    - happy 3 year anniversary, although that sounds like a bit odd given it's three years since you started the journey rather than when you finished treatment! May you have many more C-free years!

    - take it easy and only do what you can. It can take a while for Campylobacter (if that's how you spell it) to get out of the system properly and to regain strength. I remember a lady at work having it and she was off work for ages, then it took her a long time to regain the weight she lost and to feel really well again, and she had no history of bowel issues like you have. Good lucj for your appointments on Tues and Wed.

    - glad that you didn't have to disappear to Hotel NHS again with a temperature, but please make sure you look after yourself - it's very tempting NOT to rinf the chemo team when you know that they'll say to go to A&E, especially if you have other responsibilities that need dealing with. But it IS important that you do! Glad to hear the little one is better, sorry to hear that you might have picked up the cough! Did they say how long the delay in chemo would be due to your bloods being a bit wonky?

    - sorry to hear that there has been new activity in the tumour and that you've had to come of Cape - you did really well on it! Hopefully the new drug will be a good one for you as well. Definitely ask about the anticoagulants though, even though it must be nice not to have them any more. Fingers crossed for minimal side effects.

I start my new chemo on 13th November as the Eribulin wasn't working any more. Hopefully it will do something to hold back the fluid build up on my lungs and won't have too many side effects!

    - glad that you're beginning to feel better about your boob and everything - long may it continue, but don't be surprised if there are days that seem to be a step backwards - it's only natural.

and - welcome to the madhouse! The sleep issue seems to be a thing for a lot of us! I used to sleep really well and enjoyed bedtimes! Noe it's rare for me to sleep more than four or five hours, and that's usually broken by problems with my CPAP mask decided to make farty noises if I move around too much! I'm constantly tired during the day, but then when I go to bed - wide awake!!

    - hope you find a new phone - I don't understand phones and plans/data etc - it's a complete nightmare! The GIF about dropping the phone on your face made me laugh - I've done that quite often with books and with my tablet! Hope you're as well as can be,  and hope that Bella won't be too freaked out by tonight's fireworks!

Big love and hugs to everyone on this miserable Saturday!

  • I was just about to fall asleep at 5am when there was quite a fierce thunder storm here in sunny Swansea!!  My back still bad do keeping me awake I think I need to restart painkillers.

  • Hi everyone,

I’m not as good at remembering who has what problems as some, and am on my phone......

we are lucky with Stanley-dog, he was a rescue but although he has a thing about buses, he couldn’t care less about fireworks! Really fortunate!

I remember next doors dog (a lovely golden spaniel) when I was a child - he was almost more our dog as he simply adored my big brother. He was scared rigid by fireworks, used to come into us, squeeze into the tiniest space under the sideboard and shake. Fortunately then fireworks were only one night. He would relax a tiny bit when stroked, wagging his tail but never quite stopped shaking and trembling.

    Hugs xxx

  • Thank you . So glad you managed to see Dracula without any visits to Hotel NHS. I don't know how you remember everyone"s posts!

I am slowly getting there. Managed a walk on my own this morning. DH is off nerding ( trip on a heritage railway and a model railway exhibition) I didn't need to eat at the cafe half way round, and was 't as wiped out when I got home. Progress.

    Love to all fruitloops xxx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
