Hi, Elliekate, anyone is welcome to post on this thread we are all here for each other, I have incurable Cancer too, but this thread is such a lovely one, everyone is so friendly and we can say anything we like, and no one minds, and we like a laugh too, hence we call ourselves Fruit Loops. X
Hope all goes as well as it can for you today , let us know how you get on x
Welcome Elliekate. What a lot you have been through. Please stay with us; we are nuts, but have a good laugh as well as support each other . Welcome also to xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
seaspirit44 thank you so much for the welcome!
I had my appointment today and gave treatment consent, so I am hoping I will sleep better tonight without that on my mind!

Another welcome Elliekate from a fellow incurable - everyone is welcome here! You've certsinly been through a few things!
Weighted blankets sound interesting, although I'm still at windows open, no night clothes and as little coverage as possible stage!!! I know they can be calming for some people - I used to hear good things about them from parents of autistic children who didn't sleep well.
It's amazing how many people on this forum are NHS or ex-NHS workers - not sure why this should be!
Big welcoming huga to you!
Glad the appointment was okay today - things often get 'easier' once you have a plan - puts you back in some kind of control again!
What's your treatment plan (if you don't mind sharing, it's fine if not!!)
Hugs to you and yoyr family...
Thank you Weeblemum. Not being able to do my job has been one of the hardest things to accept other than leaving my family. I'm very lucky that a few of my work friends set up a coffee gang to support me and we meet as often as we can at least monthly. These lovely friends decorated our dining room as a bedroom for me while I was away on holiday as a surprise. I did weep. My weighted blanket is doing the trick 3 nights in a row now I have slept better but it is quite warm xx
That's exactly it! I hate to feel that everything is spiralling out of my control and it does feel better to have at least taken a decision.
Don't mind sharing my treatment plan at all! I have NHL (Stage 4 with bone marrow involvement) so the aim is remission rather than cure. I will be having R-CHOP (which is chemo + a targeted therapy drug), probably 6 21-day cycles but it might have to be 8, we'll see.
I'm hoping to have an easy time with the side effects... fingers crossed... just not sure what decisions to make in regards to work, childcare, all the rest of it. But I might just have to take things as they come!

Welcome to and Elliekate to the place where anything goes!!
Jenny sorry to read of your hubby's dx - hopefully early, and hopefully successfully treated.
Had year 3 mammogram today. After having to chase it (was due a month ago), I had the letter Thursday evening for appt this afternoon!! Turns out Frimley Park is short staffed, mine was done by a radiographer from Windsor picking up extra shifts. My surgeon will be pleased - she had to double check which side because she couldn't spot the fake!!
Provisional rankings are out - one place improved from last year at 7th!! Now for the Indoor season, 18m/20yd for the next few months. I will be bored stupid by January!!
Off to watch Finals Week (masterchef), Greg Rutherford turned out to be an amazing cook.
xx

Ah really, I haven't seen it? He was great on Strictly a few years back. Although not as funny as Ed Balls
