  • Good evening Fruit Loops,

Well I'll add my two-pennth... You have worked hard to be able to 'save your money'.  Saved for a rainy day, towards a holiday, towards a treat - whatever the reasons, you have worked hard to save this.  Sadly, your local pool is closed - however, the bright side to this is it has got you to look further a field and you have found the Health Club - treat yourself LondonLass, with all you have been through and the stress with your job 'do it', join and if and when you do finish work you can use it more often.  Plus I bet the hours that it can be used will be a lot better.

If you have to claim benefits - then thats what you have to do, you haven't worked and saved to use them in relation to benefits.

Join the Health Club and go and get swimming in there pool - how lovely, set my mind wondering now, I loved swimming 'back in the day'. Thinking

Saying Hello to all the Fruit Loops and sending love and hugs xxxxx

I'm hoping this makes sense - only my mind says one thing and my fingers type whatever they like x
  • I sent you a pm ...and just to add..swimming is SUCH good exercise for your knee, and so I hope you can somehow get to do it. Also it would be good for your sadness and send those endorphins around. Plus you may well meet some lovely friends.I did aquarobics for a while and couldnt stop smiling not too long after my op. However-I was a little shy of changing as no cublcles.. that was a bitifa shock..as was shy of my body...so my sister wrapped my robe over me to get changed.LoveV xx(fabo sister!)x

Here I am again.   IMHO you should go for it.

  • Dearest Fruit Loops......... , , , , , and .........

I really appreciate your input on this. It probably seems a really silly question but somehow spending that sort of money on myself just didn't seem right. Although having sat and worked out my sums I realise that IF I use just the pool a few times a week the other pool would of cost almost as much anyway! At least the health club has the added benefit of being heated, which will be better for joints and it has the Spa pool which sounds lovely, plus hopefully clean changing rooms!

i think I have made my decision, assuming it turns out to be as nice as its photos. I will be going to see it on Tuesday morning! So fingers crossed!

Oh and if you Fruit Loops are ever in my neck of the woods, I see you also get 5 guest day passes! Bonus!!

Okay now to try and get some sleep. Night night my lovely friends xxxxx

Hi ....I swim ata health club pool . I take all costs into account........I park free there, at the town pool I would have to pay . Also I only joined for 9 to 5 week days ,which is a lot less than all day every day ,and I wouldn’t go in the evenings anyway . The showers have body wash  ( a posh make ) and a swimsuit dryer . I get free drinks and 20% off food in the hotel etc etc .......of course the changing rooms are communal, but I stand there bald putting on my lymphodema sleeve and no one seems to care !!!   Hope you like you visit next week , a better year is coming for you .....best wishes ....x

  • Hi All

im lucky we have a new council sports centre and swimming pool .

I just go to aqua aerobics twice a week but I could go everyday to lots of things if I wanted to. I love aqua aerobics, it’s fun and a great laugh , we all have coffee after and I have made lots of new friends . So Sal , LondonLass go for it , I don’t  think you will regret it. Do they have an introductory month pass for you to try ?

This could also open doors for you too , ie they may need supply crèche staff , if they have one that is .

    Good luck

    love

I have just one thing to say to you...

    DO IT!!!!

Looking after you is exactly what the saved money should be used for - you've worked hard for it, especially as you haven't felt 100% for a while, so it's taken it out of you, both physically and emotionally.

  • Sal, Londonlass, you must do it !!! It’s not as if you frittering you savings away on silly stuff is it . Exercise helps the body and mind . Buy a years membership . Think of the money you might be saving by not working for a while ... possibly fares etc . This will even it out a bit . And anyway love your not talking about spending thousands are you so just go for it and    Enjoy Wink. Twinkle51 xx

The best advice given to me was “ take it one step at a time” . Twinkle51 xx
