None of us wanted to be in this group, but we are glad we're not alone.
Diagnosis 2/8/17 IDC Her2+, 22mm, with spread to several lymph nodes. TCHP chemo started 23/8/17, Mx with immediate, temp recon 24/1/18, rads 20/3 to 10/4/18, Herceptin by IV until Nov 18. RR Mx Jan 23. Still waiting for reconstruction, but opting for simple implants, as opposed to Diep, due to long waiting lists for diep.
Appointment went okay thanks. The palliative nurse is really good at listening to me! So when I told her since increasing the Gabapentin my weight has gone up, she looks straight in her drugs book and says yes that's highly likely to be down to the drug! GP always looks at me as if I am talking jibberish!
So she's swapped me on to pregablin, which apparantly is the more expensive drug with about 3 pages less of side effects! So fingers crossed!Â
While I was there she asked if I had seen the occupational therapist, which I haven't. But as she was free I was able to speak to her too! To save me coming back! We talked through my issues with fatigue and how to manage it. But the main thing that came out of it was for her to help me realise that it's okay to admit I need help sometimes. That it's okay for my parents to do the cooking and washing, it's not giving up its not being a failure. It's called finding a way to live so that I have energy to do 'fun' things too. Not just go to work and then rest! She thinks I will see a huge difference if I stop pushing myself so much and drop to the 3 days.
Plus I will be receiving a shower seat.....yes I am officially old  42 and needing to sit down in the shower. Embarrassing but as she said whose going to see me! Hopefully no one, unless we have a peeping Tom, if we do he'll get the shock of his life
So a positive outcome, the main thing being I felt they cared! I just wish my BCN could have the same ability, but for some reason she just seems so shut off and cold! Xxx
Hi LL, keep an eye on your B12 levels if you are taking Pregabalin for more than a few months. Low B12 is common in BC and the BC surgeon raised eyebrows when I told him how low mine had been earlier that year. When I looked it up, I could see the link. I was on Pregabalin for nearly 2 years and my B12 bottomed out and my cholesterol jumped up! Both known side effects.

Thanks JoDec, I will keep an eye! It's a shame that each of these tablets have to come with a whole host of side effects, which then involves taking more meds to counteract them and yes you've guessed it  more tablets to sort those side effects. It's like being stuck on a merry-go-round! Just not a very good one!
My insect bite is annoying me! I have a group of lads singing in their back garden!
Looks like I Â might be in for a rough night! Fingers crossed the extra meds help! Night ladies iÂ

Well I tried taking the extra 5ml of liquid morphine in the hope it might help me to sleep, right through! But as I am on here writing this after being asleep for just a few hours, maybe it'll take a few days, but for now, it's got to be a..............
Hope EVERYONE else had a better day! Xxxxxxx
Oh no LL, so sorry you have had a bad night. Looks like we all slept for once! I hope you are asleep now at least. Xx

Morning Jo, glad you slept well. I am up and at it, well I'm up! But when you are off enjoying yourself later I shall have my afternoon nap! I seriously know how to live!!
Today due to LACK OF SLEEP and...........
Thinking today I should keep my distance from anyone who is going to talk to me!! Not sure it's possible, but I am willing to give it a try, for their safety and my sanity!
Adding to my concerns is this insect bite, middle of the night it was stinging and I got up to get a cold cloth, the bite had gone into a blister, very odd. Anyway I left it covered with the compress, dropped off for an hour and this morning the blister has burst and I have an open spot :-( Not what I need with Lymphoedema! Have put on some antibiotic cream and a plaster and will keep an eye! As soon as I get back from walking the dog I will take my sleeve off! I knew I was tempting fate when I told the Lymphoedema nurse that things were good and my arm is the one thing I haven't had issues with! Hopefully like last time it will just heal! Fingers crossed!
Love to all, enjoy your long weekend xxxxx
Thanks Jo, NO I didn't go back to sleep! I just wrote a long reply but it dissapeared?? Not sure what happened to it!! Xx
