.
Oh no Twinkle51, your poor mum and poor you by the sounds of it. Not the way to start a new year! I hope your mum is doing okay, well as okay as she can be. I really hope you feel better soon too. Fingers crossed you can walk straight and get started in your new position! I'm sure you are a bit worried as well as very excited. Perhaps LP can come along to give you some moral support.........
Really hope it goes well. Will be thinking of you and keeping my fingers firmly crossed. Which isn't easy right now, as I have horrid painful joints!! Something else to add to my list of moans!!
Hope EVERYONE has managed to enjoy at least a Little bit of the Christmas period. I know mine wasn't exactly what I had hoped for, but I can still look back and find a few things to smile about!
I have the rest of this week off, although appointments start again on Thursday so that'll fill part of my time! Then back to work on Monday! NOT looking forward to it, but I shall go back and enjoy some time with the little one, but have decided I will try and find something else ASAP! I can't continue with these knowing how little they think of me!
Anyway, I think I am supposed to be asleep!! So Good Night you wonderful Fruit Loops! Catch you tomorrow! Love you all xxxxxxxx
Hi Twinkles51 ,
i cant believe your news , 6 years ago my mum fell and broke her hip on my last day of my old job !!!! She was 82 and independent ( well I did all the financial stuff ) . Mum got on great in hospital . I started my new job and at 57 found it challenging - I was the oldest in the office !!
As mum lived alone and with her age I insisted that a care package was in place before she was released . BUT they sent her home one day in an ambulance , as they needed her bed ) fortunately I phoned to ask how she was - oh she will be home very soon !!! What ? She had no key , the heating wasn’t on and I was at my new job ! I just had to tell New boss the story and went to her house 5 mins away.
I was healthy and fit but 3 weeks later I ended up in hospital as I collapsed when out for a meal and was blue lighted to hospital 40 miles from home ! Lots of tests and put down to exhaustion! So be very very careful with your own health .
Take care and enjoy your new venture . Put yourself first - it’s hard but you must .
Love
Ruby Rose
Rubbish night and feeling down, so trying to cheer myself up! It's the brightest, cheeriest pic I could find!!
Wishing everyone a good day! Good Luck to those heading back to work after their Christmas Break!
Sending Love and Hugs to all xxxxxx
Lots of love LondonLass, and good luck finding another job! Xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
A belated Happy New Year to everyone!! Been taking time away from internet and social media as well as work!!
Had a reasonably relaxed week (excluding picking up and cleaning after the grown up kid!!)
This morning I was discharged from Oncology!!! That's the good bit.
The bad bit is, I was discharged into the open access scheme. So I get my annual mammograms, but NO regular consultant appointments. It's up to me to spot any issues and shout. EEEEeeeeeeecckkk!!
Oncologist spotted the high TSH result straight away, and asked whether I was on thyroxine yet. One to feed back to GP after the next blood test!!
Right, back to work for me.
Hope we all have a year with slightly fewer challenges!!
Hugs xx
Karen

Awwwww that's lovely Ruby Rose, how very thoughtful of him. I hope you both have a lovely time.
toxophilite, well done on getting through your appointment. Not having to see the oncologist again must seem weird......but..... it's also a huge step back towards 'normalify' and when you are having a wobble the team will still be there for you!
For now its time to try and enjoy like post cancer. I for one have my fingers crossed that you can sort out your other issues and then get on and win a Gold Medal for Archery!! But dont forget to mention The Fruit Loops in your acceptance speech!
Oh Wonderfulso pleased if I have onfluenced anybody to love beauty and skill... made my day!!sorry am at my cousins at the mo making friends with their doggie who has also had 2 tumours... we love each other!! Am trying to send s pic but cant!! Xxx
Thank you friends . First day went well and I’m pleased to say I absolutely knew what I was doing . You know all I could think about was god forbid I flopped ... but I didn’t. I’ve made a good difference for some today so a good day . Thank you LP you were the best . My mum has had her surgery so just healing and sorting out from here . She does drive me mad , she’s a difficult old Irish women . But that’s a big part of her charm . It’s her way or no way so the future will be a challenge. I’m sure she thinks I’m still six years old xx love to you all and hope your day was calm and positive x Twinkle51 xx
The best advice given to me was “ take it one step at a time” . Twinkle51 xx
Violetsniff I am loving the Greyhound, I had one just the same, she was like a little girl, it broke my heart when she passed.
Twinkle51 well done on completing your first day and after an episode of vertigo as well, that is a very scary thing and can knock your confidence, hopefully it is an isolated incident. Hope your Mum is on the road to recovery xxx
