Hi Judith ()
Glad to hear that your medical retirement is moving forward, albeit slowly! Mine started in March and I finally got the money (I chose to have mine in one hit given the under one year life span prognosis) the week before last!!!! It's a complicated old business so it seems, although to me it seemed quite simple!!! Fingers crossed that it is settled by Jan!
Thanks for info on cataracts - I'll mention it as a potential side effect to the oncol on Friday and see what he says! My Mum didn't develop hers until a few years ago (she's 84 now) and she had them both operated on within the last five years - she now sees brilliantly although she does get watery eyes!
I last had my eyes tested in July, then October and they weren't mentioned then, so they've either appeared pretty recently or they missed them before! It seems coincidental that my eyesight has generally deteriorated since beginning this chemo and that they have appeared at the same time!
What anticoagulant jabs do you have? Since I had the PE in July, I have to do daily Fragmin jabs - oncol has said it will be a permanent thing - lucky that I don't mind doing them!!! I'm black and blue on my belly though as occasionally I hit a small blood vessel, and guess what - it bleeds more than usual - funny that!!!!
Hope you're doing okay other than all that!
I'm off to sleep clinic tomorrow to check out the possibility of sleep apnoea - this week is full of joy!!!!
Hugs to you
seaspirit44 - GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR! SO cross with the hotel on behalf of you and your OH, especially with the pains you went to in making sure you could have what you needed (not wanted, but needed...) for breakfast. Good idea of Sal's re: the porridge pots - I take them when I go to the ballet as a lot of the Premier Inns we go to don't serve brekkie. The cinnamon one is nice.
Hopefully now you've had a lie down and relaxed a bit you'll feel more like enjoying tonight and will be able to do so without any emergency visits to the loo! I don't blame you for having a meltdown - I would have done too, and I'm the least meltiest person I know!!! I would be really afraid of an obstruction coming back too - I'ma real woose when it comes to anything gastric!!!
Leolady56 - hope you've dried those (well understood) tears now - sorry to hear that the pericarditis is back - are you at home or in Hotel NHS? Hopefully at home...
BIG HUGS TO BOTH OF YOU!!!
Hugs to everyone else as well!
Hi Optimistic my son is doing fine now thank goodness.i can understand you wanting to feel ok on Xmas eve.i just want to get sorted and have ‘new boobs for the new year ‘as my younger son said. When I was given t December 3 date I was asked if I was happy to have a different surgeon as my Mr C’s list was so full.i said I was happy to let anyone do it,cleaner, porter, ward clerk, whoever wanted a go.After all as my husband pointed out ,if the original op in August hadn’t resulted in another visit to theatre within 24 hours due to complications which then meant another procedure in November whicis when they damaged my ribs pushing the port of the tissue expander into place, then waiting for them to heal before starting the process of putting a small amount of saline in gradually over several months, then maybe letting ‘someone else have a go’ might be a good idea.
.my letter for December 31 came today and it is my usual surgeon!!
Well you’ll be a new woman for the New Year xxxxx
Sorry I missed your post before. How frustrating having to cope with all the faffing about, especially when you've been waiting so long and just want to get on with it! Sounds like you've had a bit of a trial up until now, so you deserve to be treated well and soon!
Fingers crossed there'll be no more delays or cancellations and you'll be able to face 2019 new boobs first!!!
Hugs to you!
Snowys Mum me too xxx LondonLass thank you so much so very thoughtful and beautiful words in my card xxx
My lovely dog walkers took my Stan out on Monday evening and as they sometimes do they stopped off at a pub.Frank wentt down on bended knee to propose to Fiona and Stan nearly spoilt the moment by jumping all over Frank thinking he was getting down to play with him I think the whole pub was very amused and they couldn’t wait to get back here with the news.unfortunately I was still out so missed the excitement and had to make do with messaging them.they are co
ng tomorrow night though so I’ll get to see the ring and give them cards(one from Stan) and a nice bottle of champagne we popped out to get this afternoon.hope Stanley is going to be a pageboy or maybe a ring bearer?

There was once a GBear. He was having a little port, as you do ,on board his new shipThe “,”.He called down for some more to his Galligirl.”get me some more port!”he shouted, swaying a bit to starboard.@ came up onto the bridge.”GBear please don’t drink any more of that port!”(she was getting worried about her husband-she knew what he was like!!)
He was drinking to forget a girl in Port Stanley.,. Oh, she was LUVELY was Betty...all.... you know.....
Suddenly the port and fresh air hit him!
He slunk gently to the ground..but ,so kind and patient, as always, was Optimistic
She fed him old ,dry ship biscuits,”What are you DOING? There are s in those!!”Gbear said.

GBear was asleep, with his eyes open now.he said, “What ARE you on about!?!?!Do you think I am drunk?give me some more port!!”,and he closed his eyes and went into a deep deep sleep....
when he eventually woke up,he said groggily...”WhatHappened.???.....
