So I saw the pharmacist, who I know quite well today and he was great, gave me some over the counter non prescription antihistamines that aid sleep but told me only to use them twice a week so I shall try that tonight
Morning Snowys Mum....
The wisteria will give you lots of leaf coverage and I imagine as you are paying quite a bit, they will be fairly developed for this summer. It is a bit late for flowers though....It will give you time to read up carefully how to cut them back for next spring. Wisteria are one of those plants where the flowers grow only on.... ( and I don't have one because it didn't like our chalky soil and we replaced it with a passion flower so I can't tell you which) either old or new wood. So you must get it right if want flowers! If you find you still need more to climb along your fence I would recommend a passion flower. They really are resilient. Much of the winter mine keep their leaves and they certainly regrow rapidly and flower in spring. In addition I bought mine from Lidl at about £3 each so something at that sort of price will be ideal to fill in any gaps left by the wisteria. As Anna12345 says you will need a good wire framework for the wisteria. OH put my framework up before we planted. We used a piece of wire fencing ( squares) and attached it at eye level. It has given the the climbers good support and it's easy to tie in using the holes made by the squares.
Happy gardening......
Anna12345 you have hit the nail on the head. The deeds say the fence is mine and they have no access. But they have put up this new fence and say it is their property and can put a gate in if they wish. They have done the same at the other side and the height at he back (backing on to another neighbour with whom they have had a long standing dispute) is far higher than it should be. So all three side are illegal.
We have lived next door to each other for 16 years but they have only just bought the house, so are new to house ownership and probably don't understand the importance of deeds etc.
I cannot be bothered going to the solicitors, it will further anger them and be expensive.
I took pics to illustrate but no pic icon
Anyway the wisteria plants are in and very fancy they look. We have staked them. But might need more support.
Many thanks for all gardening advice. I hope everyone is having a good day with low to zero side effects and anxieties xxx
I don't know either and I fear the news might not be good. For some months while she was hospitalised having treatment she wrote to me privately on my e mail. She wasn't improving and was often very weak. They removed her spleen and changed her treatment several times. Her specialist told her he was surprised things weren't working. She was very seriously ill. Then just before the first lockdown she was sent home. I was amazed they sent her home especially when she told me that her husband and the twins had had covid. She was very tired but was hoping to take the twins out for a walk. She told me that she had an appointment with her oncologist in the afternoon. I wrote two or three more times.....no reply. I waited a few weeks then sent a ' thinking of you' gif. Nothing.....
I had hoped that if I had upset her....and I couldn't imagine that I had said anything as mostly I let her express her feelings and ' listened'........that she would still be writing on here. I know her husband wrote from time to time but again I never spotted anything.
I do hope that she just wanted to remove herself from the site and anyone connected with it but secretly I fear a different scenario.........
I’ll come back to you in this tomorrow cause I’ve had an up and down day and tired!
Took the sedative antihistamine at 3 and it sort of worked in that I kept waking and being able to get back to sleep but it floored me, plus had a few unwelcome side effects, trying to get off now and praying I don’t wake up in an hour!!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
