Hellooooooo everyone
Good to read mostly good news. good to see you back, and brilliant stable mabel news. But sorry to hear you are in so much pain with your back.
Galligirl - hang in there. It will get better. And you will get your fitness back, although I know how hard it is to be patient and take it slow!!
I've said before, and I'm sure I'll say again, hang on to your dreams ladies. You may need to modify them some, but don't let go!!
This is why. Sorry if you've heard the story before. I used to shoot an olympic recurve bow. After mx/anc, it was too heavy, and I couldn't get any kind of form or consistency back. With the help of a very good counsellor, I explored my options, and switched to shooting barebow (no sights or stabilisers, just me and the bow) I made Master Bowman 14 months after finishing treatment. This past weekend, I was competing at the UK Masters (invitational event). The qualification round on Saturday wasn't great (first half was awful!!) but I rescued an MB score, so I now have 3, and am MB classified again for the next year. We were randomly put in pairs for a team knockout, my partner and I were the two bottom ranked archers. We shot strong in EVIL wind, and pushed through to take the gold medal. My very first national level medal!!
This is 2 years since finishing treatment. I have some work to do as some issues were highlighted on Saturday, but will be pushing to make Grand Master this year.
So hang in there, keep looking forward not back (except to see how far you've come!!).
Karen

CONGRATULATIONS
As I have said before I am so VERY VERY proud of you! You are such an amazing lady who really has fought to get back to doing something you love and clearly something you have a talent for! We all know if you continue to work hard that Masters Bowman title will be yours! Keep going hun! Hopefully at the next meet up you will bring your medal to show us! Xxxx
I’d also like to say a Well Done to JoDec, My Lovely Jo, we don’t see much of you on here but we stay in touch and I think it would be nice for the Fruit Loops to hear another success story!
Jo will be doing a 10km run next month and has already managed to run 12km and I believe her words were she found it easy!!!! Well done Jo! You have certainly been dragged through the shittiest time, but look at you now! I for one am VERY VERY proud of you! Xxxxx
Before I finish I would just like to say I am Very Proud of each and every one of the Fruit Loops! You may not be shooting arrows, winning medals or running Kilometres! But you all face hurdles every day and whether it’s with support or on your own you overcome them and you continue to get through another day!
For some of you it’s swallowing a handful of medication, it might be going for yet another blood test, or injection or appointment, who knows it might just be getting out of bed, showered and dressed. You all have goals to reach and whatever crap stands in your way you continue to put one foot in front of the other and with pure grit, determination and a little stubbornness (that’s me) you all get there!
One by one I watch as you reach your goals and I smile as I read your posts and I look back and just think WOW look how far you have come! You Fruit Loops are the most amazing group of ladies and you are and will always be the ladies I am PROUD to call My Friends!
Love you all. Sal xxxx
