Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Thank you, seaspirit44, Snowys Mum and Optimistic. I had a good chat with my Hospice Nurse today and am going to up my pain meds to try and help with the breakthrough pain! Then fingers crossed it will be one less thing to worry about!
As for the emotional stuff, that’s definitely a work in progress. I think today I have realised that yet again I am going through a grieving process, grieving the job that I loved so very much and that I am going to miss, really miss! BUT I know that once things have settled down and I find a few things that interest me I will feel a bit more at ease!
Perhaps it’s time to think about another meet up?! Xxxx
LondonLass, yes when? Xxx

Hi Sal , thanks for asking how I am …...well ……
Went to onco appointment today to get blood and CT results . He says " there is good news and bad news …….but the good news is not very good and the bad news is serious "
My tumour markers doubled over xmas , which I knew about , I had 2 more doses of paclitaxel as the nurse said tumour markers are taken " in context " . Then I had a CT . I asked if more bloods were needed and told " no " , but my friend works in onco and she gave me a blood form !!! Today the Dr was pleased I had had that ! The " good news " is that the liver is still working , and the Dr is amazed I don`t have more symptoms …...The " bad " news is that the tumour is growing fast . I had blood tests done again today and they have fitted me into clinic tomorrow as an " emergency " to start oral chemo ASAP , he says he will know in a few months if it is having any effect . I asked if the 3 mm of hair I have got would go on growing or fall out , and he said it has no effect on hair . Then he gave me paperwork to read which says it could fall out ! Damn ! He said the peripheral neuropathy might decrease in a few months , but won`t all go , and he said I should stop taking Magnesium for cramp …….( I will think about that ! ) .
I am reasonably confident that I will live long enough to know my new grandchild is safely here …..he / she will be a " Golden Pig "
( they live in Asia ! )……
Hope I have not scared / depressed anyone …...hope you are all getting on ok ( ish ) today , and Sal , I hope the swimming helps
xx

Enjoy every day that you have and fingers crossed the oral chemo will do some good! (((((((((((HUGS))))))))))

Oh good grief don't bother about depressing or upsetting us. You say anything you want day or night, we are here for you on the forum, would like to be there in real life, don't know what I could do, but you could always throw things at me to relieve your feelings. You're a top bird and it is not fair xxx
Ah , that's all a bit crap - sorry to hear that things are progressing, but you seem to be coping remarkably well and it's good that you've haven't got more unpleasant symptoms despite the tumour growing.
Which oral chemo will you be on? Good that they are getting you on it asap - hopefully it will start working and will keep things at bay for as long as possible!
Massive virtual hugs to you, and keep on being the strong, amazing woman that you've proven yourself to be already!
