.
I got supplied with it at the last appointment plus some more when I phoned up with the itch, Mumofthree . I scratched once and it’s caused marks on top of the area zapped, so I suspect scratching is NOT good.
I put one of my Aveeno creams in the fridge and it was lovely when first spreading it on as skin was quite hot.
I’ve still got some itching and it’s hard mental effort not to scratch….. keeping nails very short helps too.
glad you’re enjoying that break, it sounds lovely.

2nd chemo on Friday and today was the 1st day I felt crap. Could only survive 2 hours in the office, was falling asleep on my desk. Had line care and dressing changed had the appointment brought forward as don't think I would of made it, did actually shut eye in waiting room and bay!!
Then had 2 hours sleep when i got home and felt more terrible and then I noticed the shredding of the hair.. I knew it was expected as I am trying the cold cap but until it happens you don't know how to react.
The only thing is keeping me going is our 1st foreign holiday in May 2025 .
276 days to go and Counting!!!!!
Awww, Jackiewackie10 , tough times; but you can do it! Daughters good friend got through cold capping, she said her hair thinned and she did worry but it’s great now and that was years back.
Night night Fruit Loops, sleep well and stay safe, plenty of sleepy fairy dust for all who wish, chilled to the temperature you want too…

Jackiewackie10 just a big hug really. It’s really tough when your hair sheds and when you’re knackered. I hope work are supportive in giving you the time off when you need to take it xx
Bless you Jackiewackie10 as moomy says you may have some tough times ahead. I agree with her on the cold cap too as most ladies having it when I was doing my chemo said their hair thinned but didn’t completely fall out so when you finish you hopefully will have a good start.
Hopefully this gives you some motivation. I finished my chemo about 5 months ago and had a rough time through treatment, but within weeks of stopping chemo I started feeling better and would have had an even quicker recovery if I hadn’t picked up a nasty viral infection from one of my kids. This week we are in Cornwall and I’ve been walking up hills, doing all the coastal walks, been in the sea, would have had a swim but not allowed just yet as I’m starting radiotherapy on Monday.
Feel free to come on here and share anytime as it’s good to speak with people who have lived this journey. There are some great ladies on here with fabulous advice and support.
How many rounds of chemo do you have?
hugs. Xx
Oh no I’m going to be rubbish at this. I’m hopeless with itching. Getting that gel as soon as I get home.
thanks for the warning, at least I’m ready for it.
did either of you get the dot tattoos? I was told I was having them, real mini dot tattoos which I was really surprised I’d never heard of before. But I am scheduled in at a different hospital now due to delays with that second op and the first hospital updating its radiotherapy scanners. New hospital uses some fancy digital photography instead so no tattoos. Kind of dissapointed. Will have to get a real tattoo when I’m all done.
Yes, three tattoos, Mumofthree one either side plus one centrally. Bless them, they tried hard to straighten me (I’ve got a pronounced scoliosis) but had to cope with a not too perfect position which I had to then be in each time.
