To those asking about me having a picc....

had one during primary treatment , had blue arm and puffy neck from the second day , but it flushed ok , so had 3 x few through it , it was in 9 weeks until I asked to have it properly investigated after weeks of reassurance and being told I was over anxious 

turned out I had 4 clots around it and in my neck ......had clexane and the docetaxol via hand vein .

if this happened again I would be stuck because my other arm is lymphoedema........

they have not had a problem cannulating me until today ......

I feel this is turning into a saga .....sorry !    I know these things happen and I am just too anxious .......hope none of you read this because you are all asleep .......xx

Not surprised that you're anxious after having clots around the PICC! I'm surprised that they left it that long looking blue and puffy. I have a Hickman, which is absolutely fine but where it enters my chest, the skin has healed a little darker than the surrounding area. Every week when they flush it, they mention that it's a bit red and I've had it swabbed on several occasions. Can't imagine what they'd be like if it was swollen and blue!!! 

Good that they've not had any problems so far with normal cannulation - maybe you were a bit dehydrated after the wait for the bloods. Fingers crossed it'll be back to okay next time! 

Ok you answered my question i was going to ask you about the picc line or central line. I am glad that you are normally ok with a cannula. Sorry to learn your suffered blood clots in the past and can understand your reluctance to have that possibility and with the lymphoedema your restricted to one arm. I think it’s understandable to be anxious sounds an incredibly frustrating day.

ITS ALMOST THE WEEKEND!!

Not long now Ladies. Mine has started already and for the first time in ages I don't have any appointments to go too!! So this is how it feels to have free time!!
