Hubby had habit of filling kettle instead of using measure on side of kettle so I use thermal jug WhatHappenedfor excess boiled water , then hubby can just get hot drink when he wants without re boiling .
Lacomtekpnightmare. Why do these things happen at night, Bet you desperate to go to bed tonight.
WhatHappened. I knew about re boiling water from when my daughter a baby @bd moved yo formula from breast. Hubby read the instructions! Come winter when drinking more tea we will fill flask with hot water.
moomy. My timer plugs - Wi-Fi and digital ones both use electricity. I no longer have the old manual type. We have old back boiler so during summer we only put hot water on twice a week now as tank in bathroom keeps water hot enough for hand washing. We have electric shower. In the winter we will have it on probably every other day. We've done this for years and it saves a fortune. If I want a bath like yesterday I just have to remember to out it on hour before. My dishwasher goes on ever 2/3 days depending on how full. I've stopped doing little loads of washing. I use colour catchers for mixed wash. We never put TV on standby. Not a habit we ever got into, When i use oven sometimes I cook two days meals and reheat in microwave . Works best for things like lasagna, cottage pie etc. Last week I cooked two meals and batch of cakes in one oven session!
I'm doing a food bank collection where my neighbours drop off a few bits to me and I'll take to food bank. I've 5 carrier bags so far plus a few have offered me fresh pickings from their gardens of fruit & veg. It's awful so many now reliant on food banks.
The other item our food bank asked for was recipes for cheap nourishing meals /soups etc They laminate recipe and put together ingredients to give to clients . Also do a teaching session and clients then enjoy meal

Northerner..what a good idea!I do hope it works.Foodbanks are more creative now .
I have to have a rant about irresponsible dog owners. I go to the waterpark twice weekly now, and go very early to avoid heat and crowds. I love the place and watch and record birds. I am very unsteady on my feet and consequently nervous of dogs running towards me or getting round my feet. I have a ‘dog incident’ most times, Yesterday one got found my feet and then started jumping up.I thought it had gone, and then the wretched thing jumped up to my back. I was so freaked I screamed! It had no collar so the owner had difficulty making it go away.No apology either. Another time two dogs were boisterously playing and growling together, running fast and towards me. The owner said ‘they’re only playing’ ! I told her in no uncertain terms why I was upset. She seemed eventually to understand. It has made. me nervous going on my lovely walks. I have learned to stand stock still and hang on to my walking stick. That makes it less likely that I fall.
Some people are so ignorant!!!
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
that is dreadful. I'd be tempted to wear a go pro camera and use to report repeat offenders or put on social media. I live by the beach and stretches have a dog ban May to October and clearly flouted and now they complaining that humans are dirtier on the beach as council said they going to enforce ban with fines. They don't seem to get dog poo harmful to children playing on the beach and while humans too can be disgusting with the rubbish they leave and dangerous habit of burying disposable BBQ in sand the law is there to eliminate one hazard, their dog poo . We also have issue of hanging bags of dog poo in country park. Apparently the trees need decoration! Then finally your issue. I seem to attract jumping dogs . I hate it and I'm sick of it's only being friendly. I don't care I think they are dirty and I don't want them jumping on me or kicking me . Having mobility issues makes this a worse issue but the dog owners who are careless with dogs off leads are the type who don't apologise !
Oh seaspirit44, that’s just not acceptable, I was jumped at when young by a big Labrador and am always a little wary of strange dogs and when I look after either of my grandpups they are always on a lead and kept well away from people as sometimes even though they are normally friendly and well behaved, dogs honestly can take an instant dislike to some people and there’s just no foretelling!
Groggs idea is a good one, you can get body cams quite cheaply and it might enable you to feel that it’s possible to complain with proof? (But I bet you wouldn’t like to!)
I suspect there are now (maybe due to the pandemic) more dogs around than ever, and as for hanging poo bags on trees and bushes, well that totally infuriates me! And yes, don’t get me started on litter…..!!!!
Hugs xxx
