JoDec, his can wear bikinis. You can get very nice ones and swimming prostheses. I wear regularly and no one can tell.
Not that you should have to contemplate this, seems so ridiculous. Xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Hi seaspirit44, you haven't seen how skimpy my bikinis are, lol! It's bad enough that I'll have the scarring, but it is a small price to pay! I am having a pretty tattoo over my tummy scar, like this one.

None of us wanted to be in this group, but we are glad we're not alone.

Good Afternoon everyone, sending love to all.
JoDec - Good for you, sometimes we have to fight, its not right that we have to - just that if there are options available to you then you should be allowed to have them. As for wearing a bikini, you will be able to do this, you seem ooze great strength and energy....... on the other hand.... :) how I would love to wear a bikini, if I did, I'd get thrown off the beach, I'd look like I've got nothing on with all the 'over hangs' hahaha (not really laughing, thats me disguise, I'd love to gain the will power to loose this weight, trouble is it gets me down, so then I eat - I'm stuck in this vicious circle).
Yahhhyyyy its nearly Friday hahaha
Hope the Birthday Girl is having a great day and not sleeping it away xxxx
JoDec, what lovely tattoos! I thought about getting one for my mastectomy scar, but other events took over! Might still do it. Xx

Hi All, Whathappened I know exactly how you feel I could have written that. Got a phone call at 6pm yesterday, gp wants to see you tomorrow....don't you hate it when they do that then leave you to wait all night.....anyway it was the nurse I saw and was the results of blood tests I had asked to be done(as none done since Oct.
Folic acid low and glucose high meaning borderline diabetes..said you should be watching what you eat/exercising more/try to lose weight. Said I knew I was overweight.. a lot is steroids and I used to cycle and swim to keep healthy. I said to her after what I've been through last thing on my mind was whether I'd had my 5 a day! I was so tired and aching I can hardly move and not sleeping.
Unbelievably she didn't know I'd been diagnosed with BC and was talking to me like I was a silly old woman!
One good thing did happen though..she gave me a gp referral to a gym for a 12 week programme where I will have a personalised diet and exercise plan/free swimming and it just costs the first induction fee of £7.50 so I will definitely be trying to do that it might be the motivation I need. See if your gp can help you too, we can do it together and pm each week our weight loss! (No telling fibs) lol
xx
....At least the person who told you the GP wanted to see you tomorrow could have mentioned it was a blood test result...stop you worrying...but then mYbe that isn’t allowed...And I feel angry for you at the way the Nurse spoke to you...I am glad you have a 12-week programme through your GP,my programme made me go on to carry on myself after the programme was ended, because I felt fitter and was no longer breathless. It was wonderful for me.
and JoDec...what absolutely beautiful tattoos for your scar!!....hope it goes well xx
I think my tattoos are a long way off yet, but I am looking forward to having them done. I have a little tattoo on my hip that I wanted removed. The surgeon told me it will be damaged from the surgery as the cut will go through it, so two birds with one stone I say! The scar will be too high for my bikinis and I was thinking I'd have to wear big knickers, but a pretty tattoo will be lovely and even if you can still see the scar, it will just remind me that it was all part of the treatment that saved my life.
So do we have a theme ladies? Here is a funny pic to start us off!

Weight loss. There is a thread in Chat, where a group have got together to support each other and share tips. Here.
JoDec - looks like we may have some ladies from the Walking thread gatecrashing 17 March :)
Shaming. I don't have a picture, but anything left out in the kitchen leads to a FAT cat in the morning!!
