  • Thanks Shellian, how are you doing Hun? I keep meaning to text you but it's not been a great week/weeks!

    Sending you a Special.....

    Hug xxxxx

  • Ha ha ...I am awake now after seeing those goggle eyes looking at me!!and if I’m not wrong, there seem to be lots of nurses on here (reading between the lines)...who are urging you to get your thyroid checked out...you will be happier in the end,Hon...

...I did offer free luch to some on another social media site...but by time I got on here ....I had eaten it all!!!..sooooooooo....

and then the reason I was awake at some unearthly hour was that I had massive indigestion....

    so,yeah.....

  • Sal - it may well be that a lot of the 'feeling rubbish' is down to your thyroid. Your thyroid levels have probably been slowly increasing ever since you stopped. I'd be furious if I'd been told to stop and there was no follow up.

I'm pretty lucky as far as blood tests go as I have to have my INR checked every month so my GP is pretty good about adding other tests if I ask for them. Ditto my oncologist who does a blood test every 6 months for absolutely everything he can think of. Guess I could get p*ssed off about the number of blood tests, but actually I quite like knowing what's going on.

You never know, if you can get the correct thyroid level re-established, you might even feel better!!!!!

We went out and had Indian for lunch. It didn't seem like I ate a lot but I look about 15 months pregnant and I can barely move I'm so full. No dinner tonight, just a few cherries cos they were there lol.

I started a new craft project, a tapestry, and am so obsessed I made my arms and shoulders and back ache terribly. Guess I'll have to take a day off tomorrow, or maybe just a couple of hours lol.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Hugs

    Lynn xx

I'm the same with my knitting - can't leave it once I start! After finishing the dragon last night, I now have a numb finger from doing the sewing up and a whacking headache and stiff neck from peering over my glasses putting him together! And it's meant to be fun!!!

Also feeling a bit tired today - not sure whether it's because I'm not sleeping well or the post chemo flop or a combination of both! It's days like today when I realise how much life has changed since my secondary diagnosis!  Not long ago, I was doing 12 hour days at work, housework, Open University study and other stuff. Now I'm knackered after loading the dishwasher and hoovering! Still have shopping to do, but might have a nanny nap first...

Still, I've given up feeling guilty about the naps - what the body needs it needs!

Hope everyone is functioning better than me today!!! :-D

    Hugs to everyone!

Doh chronic ill health...don't you just love it.

Hmmm thyroid somehow righting itself is a new notion to me.  I have medication for mine and understood a yearly check would determinrme if more support was needed.

Yes, recently I decided I needed to step up and cook proper healthy meals...only to discover that although it looked good, smelt good and tasted good.. one mouthful and body said nah! Not having it. Can't freeze stuff either so really glad I made the  effort : )

Last night, my pal who owns a huge bull mastiff gave me lots of dog toys that said hound had lost interest in. My mutt was delighted...some squeaked!. I don't get squeakers kuz squeek in brain out! Plus he has to deconstruct to see how it works.

So one deliriously happy doggy... in 5 minutes surrounded by bits. I have a serial killer.... looks sooo innocent too : )

Any one packing a bag for procedure or trip...just wondering, is there anything that you really don't NEED but like to have?

    Take care

  •  I knit too - until my fingers drop off. I've also been making a large latch hook rug but have had to put that aside for a while as it gave me tendonitis in my thumb. That's why I started the tapestry as it's different kind of hand movements.

I'm not surprised you're tired. Even if you don't get massive SEs, the chemo is bound to be taking its toll. Naps are good - I've been a fan all my life lol.

Enjoy the rest of the w/e.

  • Dear ....ooo what tapestry??love to see a pic...and I get the obsessed thing where your back and arms hurt!!

all you ladies seem to live such very busy lives as well as being so poorly...I am in awe.

I took early retirement and am kind of a lady of leisure now so feel a bit spare part on here...

anyway...heres my tapestry and doll I am knitting (for whom?maybe whoever picks it up and loves it basiaclly...)

  • Love your work    Mine is actually a Persian rug design. I have a great book of latchhook rug patterns and I've wanted to make this design for ages. As I said in another post, latchhooking has given me tendonitis so I decided to use the pattern in a tapestry. I've only done about 3 inches square so far though. I'll see if I can take a pic of the pattern in the morning or scan it or something - it's bedtime now.

BTW I'm a lady of leisure too. I retired 7 years ago (at 57) so have plenty of time on my hands. I was so glad not to have to worry about work when I was having treatment! Now I'm just making the most of it.
