.
Hi Lacomtekp , Really sorry to hear you were so unwell, but pleased to hear you are on the road to recovery!
Were you feeling dizzy/unsteady before the vomiting started? As it sounds like it could have been heat stroke, as I believe you have had some really hot weather there!?
Whatever it was I am glad that you are back home and beginning to catch up on some sleep!
As for the ‘care’ your received. That’s the one thing I can honestly say about the NHS they have a policy whereby nurses/doctors or phlebotomist can only attempt Canulation/blood draws 3 times before they have to ask another colleague to try. I recall having this issue while in the thyroid clinic. The nurse tried 3 times, then had to call another nurse who had her 3 tries, then as they didn’t have to get the blood on that specific day, I was asked to go to the blood room the next day. Where I might add they did it first time!
Only occasion I recall the 3 attempts rule not applying was when I had my PICC Line fitted back when I was having Chemo. I’ll never forget the colour of my arm on that day. Pretty sure it looked pretty much like I imagine yours looks now. I would suggest using arnica cream if you have any or an arnica tablet if that’s available to you!
It’s a shame all your visitors are gone, as you could do with some extra help at the mo. Make sure your hubby doesn’t over do it.
Sending much Love and Get Well wishes your way. Keep your feet up and let hubby take care of you, the way you take care of everyone else xxxxx
Thank you. Kind thoughts.
P. S. Not heat stroke......it was extremely hot but we were never out in the high temps and luckily stone houses are always cool. Just one of those things.....no stress, not busy, just two of us.... it's as if the adrenaline that kept us going for some difficult and busy months drains away and the body suddenly takes over. It happened once before severely with hospitalisation and several times with just an injection sufficient. Not every year just spread out over my life.
Thanks again for taking time to make suggestions. I've got to have a blood test again tomorrow but they told me to see the village nurse who gets it first time ....every time......usually 9 vials!
Tonight there isn't enough of anything in the world to make me sleep.
I went to Aqua fit today so the buzzing stopped for an hour this afternoon. Now it is back. I've just booked a Look good Feel better afternoon for the middle of september. I'm hoping by then I will have started treatment and I will know what I'm facing.
It's strange how people react. Some stay the same and ask normal questions others do the heavy sympathy " I know how you feel. My cousins husband's aunties cat had cancer!!!
Three times! What did I do?
Good Evening Ladies.
I rang the BC nurse today. I wanted to know if they had got the results of the biopsy they took last Thursdays. They haven't! As the planning meetings take place on a Thursday that probably means we will all, and it isn't just me, will have to wait another week. Apparently we've had a Bank Holiday!
I've managed to plan something for every day up to and including next Wednesday. Even if it is only returning a quantity of knickers back to Next I ordered by mistake. I still think I'm going to find the week difficult. Thank goodness we have the motor home and we can take off to the Dales or anywhere else we fancy on Sunday.
Fingers crossed we get the usual first week of September weather. As a primary school teacher I must have spent hours over the 30 years writing names into jumpers et c because parents in our area didn't consider that. The children came back in winter uniform and invariably the sun was cracking the flags. I went back in standard uniform of white linen trousers and summer top. Usually for the first two weeks. We've only had about ten minutes rain today. Not enough to even dampen the grass.
Sleep well everyone. I think I might have a nightcap.

Lacomtekp , just a thought, that adrenaline release after the family departed really can cause your body to react, I know you love having the family there but (I bet) you will be doing more and probably feeling a certain amount of extra stress in trying to ensure all goes to plan?
Silverberg , even if you don’t stay away, long day trips out in the moho can do you loads of good and keep that mind from dwelling on the ‘what ifs’? So yes, get away! I’m looking forward to my next trip (a week away in Goldie-van after all the kids go back to school and the appointments are over, dentist included!)
hugs to you all xxx
Moomy
So when are either of you lovely ladies Silverberg and moomy going to venture as far as Devon?! There’s a ‘lovely’ Fruit Loop, that lives their xx
I'm afraid Yorkshire to Devon in four days isn't going to happen. If we go to the Dales and it does decide to rain we can always run for home.
Fingers crossed you all slept well.
Have a good day.
Three times! What did I do?
I’m not sure, LondonLass , so far Dorset has been my furthest south-west.
