Hello there

Just been diagnosed with bowel cancer, T3N2.  Hoping to find support and give some in return once my treatment has started.  Tumour coming out in 3 weeks then chemo after, so its very early days.  Sending lots of love to all going through this.

  • Love to you too. Mine was the same.T3B2 sigmoid tumour. Found by FIT test in January - no signs. Surgery beginning March removing tumour, lymph glands, ovary and fallopian tube due to extra inflammation. Pretty intense surgery & needed stoma.. 6 weeks on I am getting there. Just had review appt with surgeon and colorectal specialist nurse & told I need preventative chemo. Probably delusional but was hoping not to need it (definitely delusional!!)so bit upset. Im feeling stronger all the time generally with a few emotional setbacks & a few hiccups with the healing process and stoma niggles. Hope things go well for you. Xx

  • Thank you for taking the time to reply, its good to know you're not alone going through this.  I had no symptoms other than getting out of breath for a few months before I had a CT scan and they found a shadow in the colon.  It's been a whirlwind of appointments in the last 2 weeks, but I feel better knowing there's now a plan.  My tumour is aggressive and I need another blood transfusion to keep my red blood cells up, but my main fear is if the cancer spreads.  It's already in some lymph nodes so just praying it doesn't run amok before the chemo starts.  Honestly can't say how much it helps 'speaking' to someone who understands the fears you have with this horrible disease.  Sending much love - always here if you need support.

  • Bless you Scooby. What I can say is that every doctor and nurse Ive encountered has been marvellous so I know they will be knowledgeable and do everything they can for you. If love and best wishes could work miracles with everything on these forums we'd all be  perfect

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the board from me. The next few months will be tough but we’ll get you through it. As you’ve probably seen, we’re all at different stages of treatment and recovery so if you’ve any questions please ask away.

    Take care

  • Yes, so far everyone has been lovely, professional but caring and approachable and everything has been arranged really quickly - had all my dates for pre op appts and the op itself in 2 days.

  • Thank you Karen.  The kindness and support on here is wonderful, and I hope I can contribute to that myself as my journey continues.
