Hi, I have been to the doctors already, and have the normal tests fit and blood tests, as I have been in pain etc. I have ibs and recently been in pain and lots of ibs bouts. I have had a colonoscopy year and half ago and found one precancerous polyp so due to have another colonoscopy in 3 years. I am just worried as the pain is quite low down and round my lower back. I know worrying is not going to help things and the tests are good to have. But I have a bad health anxiety and the pain could just be bad ibs, but the pain is different this time, quite low. But the doctors keep saying it takes a while for the polyp to grow back.
Thank you for reading.
Bowel cancer is normally very slow growing and most people have no pain until it's advanced. Given your clear FIT test and recent colonoscopy, the pain is unlikely to be cancer. I think IBS pain can change over time so this may feel different but be the same thing. Being low down just means it may be a different section of the colon.
I'd trust your doctor and try to relax a little. I know, easier said than done! Soon enough you will have another colonoscopy
